Drake, Justin Bieber lead Juno nods

Drake and Justin Bieber are among the top contenders for Canada’s 40th annual Juno Awards. Drake, who won last year for New Artist of the Year, will also host this year’s gala. He received six nominations, including Best Album, Best Single and Artist of the Year. Also nominated in the latter category are Bieber, country singer Johnny Reid, Neil Young and Sarah McLachlan. Bieber is nominated in four categories, including Best Album, Best Pop Album and Fan Choice. At yesterday’s press conference for his movie Never Say Never, Bieber announced that he won’t be able to attend. “I won’t be able to come to the Junos this year. I’ll be overseas,” he said, but stretched his arms out and yelled, “Yeah, JUNOS! We’re bringing them home.” During the ceremony, which will be held in Toronto this year on March 27, 2011, Shania Twain will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. There also be a tribute to Young, who will receive the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.
