According to an official statement, Edgar Wright, who was set to direct the upcoming Ant-Man film, has left Marvel Studios over differences in creative visions of the film. According to Latino Review, Wright left after the script he wrote was given to two lesser known writers for changes. When the script came back, it was: “Poorer, homogenized, and not Edgar’s vision. Edgar met with Marvel on Friday to formally exit and the announcement went out directly after.” Wright has been part of the project since 2006 and co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Cornish. Patrick Wilson, who was cast in a lead role in film, tweeted “Yes yes…the big news was Edgar’s departure and now not knowing the fate of the film. Big to ME anyway.” However, according to reports, a new director has been found and the release date of July 17, 2015 still stands. ~Dylan Paisley
