Elisha Cuthbert described as “sloppy seconds”

Elisha Cuthbert and Sean Avery in 2007Dallas Stars hockey player Sean Avery has been suspended by the NHL “for conduct detrimental to the league” for calling ex-girlfriend, Elisha Cuthbert, who stars on 24, “sloppy seconds.” Cuthbert is currently dating Calgary Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf, and during a practice session in Calgary on Tuesday, Avery told the media: “I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about. Enjoy the game tonight.” The National Hockey League Players’ Association is withholding comment on the case until after NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman meets with Avery to determine the length of the ban.

Sean Avery’s an okay player but after hearing his remarks…what a BUMBASS!!! Elisha Cuthbert’s one HOT canadian woman…’NUFF SAID!!!

  2. Spidey • December 5, 2008 @ 10:58 AM

…OOPS!!! I mean ‘DUMBASS’. I hope Gary Bettman bans with from the league. Sean will probably find another job, especially with that BIG mouth of his. He might as well be an actor!!!

  3. GTNG • December 5, 2008 @ 11:45 AM

Yes, his comment was crude but even more so it’s sort of pointless. It’s not as if she was even remotely a virgin when he slopped her up. These days ALL women are sloppy seconds, thirds, tens and often hundreds.

  4. My own opinion • December 5, 2008 @ 12:28 PM

So a comment in bad taste is “detrimental to the league” but players who intentionally hurt each other and teams who have ‘enforcers’ go out on the ice strictly to intimidate and retaliate are not detrimental? If the league is trying to give the message, especially to impressionable children, that saying such things is unforgiveable behaviour, then they are also giving the message that all the behaviour, on or off the ice, they don’t chastise is acceptable. Come up behind an opponent and cause permanent damage with your hockey stick? That’s okay. Kill a teammate in your car while driving? Don’t worry about it. But don’t insult your ex-girlfriend. That’s baaad.

    hey GTNG,
since women are sloppy seconds and so on, what does that make men?
gimme a break. what a freakin double standard world we live in.

  6. Anonymous • December 5, 2008 @ 2:18 PM

What a pig, Sean Avery AND GTNG.

  7. GTNG • December 5, 2008 @ 2:42 PM

Whatever: “since women are sloppy seconds and so on, what does that make men?”

I’m not sure, how do you feel about crusty seconds?

You seem to be ignoring the point, why should Avery take pride in having had sex with a woman before some other hockey player did? That’s sort of like taking pride in having ridden the bus.

The point is, NHL players should keep their dirty heinous comments about their bedroom antics out of the media. It’s called having CLASS and TACT, neither of which Avery, GTNG, and any other man who thinks he is somehow innocent and angelic when it comes to how many people they’ve bedded. WHO CARES????

  9. K • December 5, 2008 @ 4:57 PM

Avery’s a F’in little punk! Thinks he’s so bad ass. They should make an example of him and kick him out of the league. This isn’t his first offense and I guarantee it won’t be his last. Oh and for the record, Ms Cuthbert is down right gorgeous! Sloopy seconds… I hope Phaneuf get ahold of you and lays a serious ass woppin on ya! Punk bitch!

First of all what is his presonal life got to do with hockey? So why would we give a shit who he is dating. His job is hockey and that’s all he should comment on.
Second, it sounds like a loser to ditch his ex. He is obviously upset because she has moved on. Sorry buddy but you sound like a loser. Get a life.

  11. tributegirl • December 5, 2008 @ 6:50 PM

I think it is very immature for him to diss his ex like that. If he had any class at all, he wouldn’t comment on her at all, or would only comment on her good points.

Avery/Sean reminds me a bit like the kind of person that the Batman Dark Knight’s joker was(not Heath Ledger himself, but the kind of scum character that the Joker is/was). Maybe because of his dirty looks, dirty talk, and him being a low life wanting something he could never get. If I were near him as a hockey player, he’d be laid out in a second with a nice elbow or hip check. Then, if he managed to get up and want some more of it, I’d land a few upper cuts, right hooks and even a body blow as if he/she were Jack Glass from that old boxing video game I used to play when I was a kid. However, I doubt anything like this would ever change the Duffus because he has not one bit of class. He’s all glass. If Brett Hull doesn’t want to improve his Dallas’ Stars character by getting rid of him, then maybe the Stars need to get rid of Brett first.
Adios Sean! No one wants ya now! You are too much of a loser for anyone to bother with!

From an NHL/Habs fan who wonders if the NHL can overcome such a drain to it’s great new look this year.

Ps/ I think the Dark Knight advertisement/contest was not a fluke for this site page either, but maybe?

  14. ke • December 6, 2008 @ 1:22 AM

    can you say bit-ter?

  15. Minerva • December 6, 2008 @ 4:39 AM

Hey, Whatever……..WAY TO GO!!!! Perfect point!! Wonder what GTNG stands for anyway….Geek That Nauseats Girls? He’s in the same league as Avery, .. the “bitter” club.

  16. silent bob • December 6, 2008 @ 4:41 AM

Really it all boils down to a guy being suspended for WORDS…

Its absolutely ridiculous. The day we get punished for what we have the freedom to say, is the day “political correctness” destroys a free society.

Next thing you know we will be thrown in jail for wishing people a “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays”.

I agree, the guy is a douche for saying what he said, but he shouldn’t be punished for exercising his right to free speech.

  17. Dan • December 6, 2008 @ 12:34 PM

Hey Sean, since you’re not doing anything for the next couple of weeks, why don’t you give Shenae Grimes a call? You 2 would be a perfect match!

  18. Yawnie • December 6, 2008 @ 1:34 PM

The whole point of this matter, besides the fact that he has shown himself to be a classless piece of an excuse for a human, never mind a man, is that he is representing a franchise. So, unfortunately, guilty by association still rings true to some people. It would be the same as carrying on in such a manner in your own work place. It’s distasteful & a bad reflection on the company. As for himself, he’s definitely no winner in the looks, personality or playing categories. Pray for the next poor female to take him on.

  19. Kevin • December 6, 2008 @ 11:03 PM

I guess thatmakes guys sloppy joes or Sloppy thirds. Some people just hate cause they do not have a good thing going on. Be Happy it is Almost Christmas Yay.

  20. Little Jimmy Cardboard • December 7, 2008 @ 1:47 PM

I feel sorry for Miss Cuthbert. Not primarily because of what Avery said, but because she lacks the perception to have seen what an empty person he obviously is before getting close enough to him to allow him to be able to hurt her in such a way. Ladies, we’ll all be better off if you expect more from your fellows…

  21. mandee • December 7, 2008 @ 5:39 PM

im kinda thinkin if she didnt hook up with all the players, maybe he wouldnt have anything bad to say about her lol.

  22. Anonymous • December 14, 2008 @ 6:54 PM

So cause she slept with more than one man, it’s ok for them to say that crap about her? I’m assuming he slept with more than one woman in his lifetime, so what does that make him???

  23. Nancy • December 15, 2008 @ 5:24 PM

A sloppy disease on ice skates???
