After four years together, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi have gotten married. The couple wed in a quiet ceremony Saturday evening at their home in LA, confirms their spokesperson to People magazine. The intimate affair was attended by nineteen of the couple’s closest friends and family who witnessed DeGeneres and de Rossi exchange rings and recite handwritten vows. Plans for a wedding were in full swing shortly after California’s Supreme Court overturned a previous ban on gay marriage. The long-time couple would have wed sooner, but they had been waiting for their nuptials to become legal. “It is something of course that we have wanted to do and we wanted to be legal. We are just very, very excited,” DeGeneres said. Here’s hoping the Hollywood marriage curse won’t get to this couple.
That’s good for them!
I’m glad they got the chance to wed.
=)
I love Ellen, i think she’s hilarious and a genuinely nice person. And I think Portia is hot – too bad for the guys. I really hope they stay together for good.
