Elton John has cancelled three of his Vegas shows after being taken to hospital for a respiratory infection. Earlier this week, the Grammy-winning singer was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles but was later released. Doctors recommended he not work while he completes a series of antibiotics. “Elton developed a serious respiratory infection last weekend while performing at The Colosseum on Sunday May 20,” said Fran Curtis, Elton’s publicist. “This week the condition worsened, even with medication and rest, resulting in Elton being hospitalized.” He underwent a series of tests and later released a statement saying, “All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.” Back in February, the singer had to cancel two concerts after getting food poisoning. ~Krystin Edgerton

Does he still get paid for the shows if he cancels them??
I would highly doubt it, Sarah……surprised they released him if it was a “serious” infection…
