Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding date has been set to take place April 29, 2011, it was announced this week by Buckingham Palace. Rather than tying the knot at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where William’s parents — Charles and Diana — were married, they’ve decided to have the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, where Diana’s funeral was held. Sir Elton John, who performed “Candle in the Wind” at the funeral, was asked by BBC Radio 2 if he’ll be attending the wedding. He replied, “I probably am,” then added, “I probably will, in the sense that I’ll be outside busking.” Although John was a good friend of Diana’s, he says he won’t be writing about the royals when he steps in as guest editor for the British newspaper, The Independent. “There’s not going to be much about the royal wedding in there,” he says. “I think we’ve had enough of that for the time being.”

Elton John recently admitted during an interview with UK GQ that he hasn’t seen the critically acclaimed movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, about Freddie Mercury.
They make such a wonderful couple and I wish them well!
I do too – I hope Elton John does get an invitation to play at their wedding, but who knows if he’s close with William or not..
I’m sure he’ll be invited — he was a good friend of William’s mother, so how could he not invite him?
