Elton John’s husband trashes Madonna’s Golden Globe win

Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, had a lot to say about Madonna taking home last night’s Golden Globe award for Best Original Song – Motion Picture, using his Facebook page to slam her victory. “Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!” he wrote. “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s [sic] narcissism. And her critisism [sic] of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.” Furnish’s bitterness may be explained by the fact that Elton John was nominated in the same category for his song “Hello Hello” from the animated film Gnomeo & Juliet. John told an interviewer on the red carpet before the show that he believed Madonna had no “f**kin chance” of taking the prize — and when she did, he didn’t look too impressed. However, the W./E. director seemed to take John’s harsh comments in stride when she heard what he said about her chances of winning. “Damn him, those are fighting words,” she joked, adding, “Okay, well may the best man win,” she told interviewer Carson Daly.

Elton John recently admitted during an interview with UK GQ that he hasn’t seen the critically acclaimed movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, about Freddie Mercury.
He’s just jealous that his wife/hubby didn’t win. And he should keep his opinions to himself.
well, if your only purpose in attending is winning, followed up by tackily trashing your winning opponents, maybe stay home next year…
John looked thoroughly “unimpressed” throughout evening, almost bored, annoyed…

Ugh, I HATED Madge last night. I was routing for The Help to win best song, and when Madonna won, my mom said that she only won because she’s goddamn Madonna. And then she went all ice queen on Ricky. It felt so awkward, except when Ricky ran across stage away from her. That was the worst part of the night, besides Seth Rogens erection joke.

I heard her song and I don’t think it should have won, but then again I’m not a professional. Madonna only won cause nobody actually seems to like her movie. I think it was a hint for her to stick with music.
I am not a huge Madonna fan, but Furnishes’ cmments do sound like sour grapes.
Elton’s partner wasn’t very professional in giving his opinion. He should of kept that to himself. Madonna and Elton are both wonderful entertainers and I find that there are always other people who prefers one to the other. I like some of her songs just as well as Elton’s but I wouldn’t react the way Elton’s partner did….I don’t think he is going to be well-liked in the future. I was impressed when I first saw him with Elton a few years ago and said “hmm, very professional” but now I don’t know. I did notice Elton’s reactions on his face when I saw him on T.V. the other night….not a happy camper…
