Emily Blunt becomes U.S. citizen

Emily Blunt has become a U.S. citizen. The British actress obtained her citizenship alongside Matthew McConaughey’s Brazilian wife Camila Alves at a VIP legal oath ceremony in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

It comes five years after the Into The Woods actress married her Massachusetts-born actor husband John Krasinski. According to UsMagazine.com, Blunt – who was born in London – was spotted leaving the courtroom holding Krasinski’s hand, accompanied by McConaughey and Alves and their children, Levi, seven, Vida, five, and Livingston, two.

Blunt or her husband are yet to comment on the news, but McConaughey, 45, was so pleased his model wife had finally become an American he took to Twitter to tell the world. He tweeted: ”Congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today. Another fellow and great American (sic)”

Meanwhile, the day after becoming a U.S. citizen Blunt and her husband attended the secret wedding of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. The happy couple tied the knot at their $21 million Bel Air home in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening. They were joined by 70 guests, including Aniston’s former Friends co-stars Courteney Cox, who served as maid of honor, and Lisa Kudrow.
