Emma Watson to perform in school play

emma_watsonEmma Watson is performing in a university play with no admission charge. The Harry Potter star moved to Providence, Rhode Island, to attend Brown University last year. The 19-year-old actress is studying Liberal Arts at the prestigious school and has chosen to appear in her literature class’ production of Anton Chekov’s Three Sisters. Emma will star alongside 13 of her classmates in the show, which will be performed from March 11 to 15 on the university’s main stage. Admission will be free, with both students and non-students invited to attend. Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is convinced the production’s organizers will regret letting Emma take part when the auditorium is overrun with Harry Potter fans. “We’re glad to hear that Harry Potter’s Emma Watson is making the most of her time at Brown University. We just hope she knows what she is getting herself into with this,” he wrote. “When the place is packed to the brim each night with Harry Potter fans, whoever organized this will regret that decision!”

She’s awesome! I wish I could see the play. I know she will be amazing! Go Emma!

Fans or no fans, Emma should be able to take part in everything that every other university student takes part in. Limiting her post-secondary experiences because of her celebrity is unfair in the extreme!

I agree with Candy. She should be able to at least have a semi-normal university life. And hey, too many people might be better than none! I hope the show goes well!
