Emma Watson shuns Hollywood because of bitches

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 18, 2008 | 22 Comments

Harry Potter star Emma Watson, 18, who provides the voice of Princess Pea in The Tale of Despereaux, says although she loves the weather in Los Angeles, she has no plans to move to Hollywood because she finds actresses her age “bitchy.”  She told AOL’s Moviefone: “Gosh, I could never be that bitchy. I think that living in England, it’s very disconnected from Hollywood. There’s a very different approach and attitude towards it. Acting in a starry way is just not tolerated. You will just have the p**s taken out of you.” She added, “I think that it’s a wonderful lifestyle that you have [in LA],” she added. “The weather is amazing and everyone seems very healthy. It seems like a really nice place to live. Obviously, if I had to film here or whatever, then that would be great. But I don’t really know a lot of people here.”

Madonna is “b!tchy” and she’s lived in England for years!!! 😀

Madonna was already bitchy before she moved to England.

i love her more for her character rather than her acting (which to me is the most important thing), although she sounds awesome as Princess Pea.

*i mean the character being the important thing.
    erase the ‘rather’.

You’re right, Kim. Madonna was already b!tchy….that’s WHY she moved to England, to blend in!! 😛

    shallow comment Emma
you state you don’t really know a lot of people there, but yet find actresses your age bitchy. Based on what? Two, three – a whopping four you’ve personally met, not just read media spins on?

Hey, Nancy, I have a very good friend from England, and she’s a real sweetheart!

  9. Nancy • December 19, 2008 @ 8:19 PM

And I have a good friend in the USA…and she’s a real sweetheart too! B!tches are everywhere…that’s my point!! 😛

  10. tributegirl • December 19, 2008 @ 9:05 PM

But sweethearts everywhere too, especially here in CANADA!!!

  11. Nancy • December 19, 2008 @ 9:57 PM

Definately! We have a hundred times more sweethearts than any other country…you and I are amongst them! LOL.

Judging (as Emma is) by b!tchy stars though, they are in England too, there are just more of them in LA because that is the biggest city for stars. She doesn’t have to associate with them though. But, she can live wherever she wants…doesn’t matter to me, it’s just ignorant of her to label all actresses her age who live in LA/Hollywood “b!tches”.

If the shoe tends to fit – wear that puppy. A round of Gary Coleman anyone? He was bitchy too.

Let’s hope she can say that in five years when the hollywood machine tries to take her down this grown up path. Probably posing in some mens zine scantilly clad. She will rebel it just matters how and how far she will go. Rebellion is good and maybe she might be for the good.

    L. A. is known for its superficiality, any anything goes lifestyle. It’s filled with ‘celebrities’ people famous for their talent. so Emma is correct in generalizing the many party girls of L. A. as bitches. I’m guessing alot of you do not know the mindset of British ppl which she mentions in her quote. Over there for example, a banker would be regarded with more respect as having accomplished something than a famous actor; versus the case in L. A. and other places too in North America they ar practically worshipped. i mean lets be honest, lindsay lohan, paris hilton and britney spears all just amount to bitchy white trash

I think she is being a little bit you know Bwordish because she 1 shes not famous enough to be talking about real famous people And 2There are tons of nice people in hollywood but i guess she is to you know that word to find out.

She could teach Miley Cyrus a thing or two!

  20. Anonymous • December 21, 2008 @ 3:10 PM

Well I should hope so, she is a couple of years older than Miley! Then again, Miley is a much bigger star than Emma ever will be so that is why we see quite a bit of bad stuff about her. I guarantee you that if Miley and Emma were both at the same venue…people would be saying “Emma who?” and all the paparazzi cameras would be ALL on Miley! So yes, we see plenty of bad stuff Miss Cyrus does and none of what Emma does because Emma is not that big of a star yet it’s not because she doesn’t do anything that the majority do not approve of!

Sorry, the comment from Anonymous above was me. Forgot to fill in my name. 😛

I really like Emma and her attitude towards fame. I am sure she is very famous in England if not so much here. But I dont’ totally agree that it is \very disconnected from Hollywood. There”™s a very different approach and attitude towards it. Acting in a starry way is just not tolerated\ as she put it. Have we forgotten the papparatzi and Princess Diana. Definitely as bad as Hollywood.
