Eva Mendes doesn’t feel like she has earned her ”Mother’s Day stripes.”
The actress, 41, – who has seven-month-old Esmeralda with partner Ryan Gosling – has no plans to celebrate the special day this weekend because she doesn’t think she’s been a parent long enough to deserve to have a fuss made of her.
She said: ”There is no plan. I kind of feel like I haven’t quite earned my stripes yet in a way. She’s seven months [old].”
Instead, the Hitch actress – whose brother Carlos Mendez is believed to be battling cancer – plans to visit her own mother and ”bombard her with love.”
She added to Access Hollywood Live: ”This Mother’s Day is definitely all about my mom. She’s had a really hard year. My brother’s sick, so it’s all about my mom, honoring her. We’re all going to go over to her house and bombard her with love.”
Eva also talked about how her own mother used to dress her and her sisters identically, even though she was the youngest by several years.
She said: ”I love that whole concept, it’s so sweet to me, my mom used to dress me like my sisters and there’s a huge age gap, they were eight, nine years older than me. So she had my older sisters dressing like a five year old.”
