Exodus: Gods and Kings nabs top box office spot

After three weeks at the top,  The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1 has been ousted by the epic biblical drama Exodus: Gods and Kings. The Ridley Scott film made an estimated $24.5 million at the box office in its opening week. Exodus: Gods and Kings tells the timeless story of Moses, played by Christian Bale, and his battle to free the slaves of Egypt and has a 3.5 star Tribute user rating.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 landed at the number two spot this weekend with just over $13 million in its fourth week. It has a 3 star Tribute user rating. Penguins of Madagascar dropped one spot to number three. The animated flick earned $7.3 million in its third week and has a 4.4 star Tribute user rating.

Chris Rock’s critically acclaimed Top Five made the number four spot with $7.2 million in its debut weekend. The film about a comedian who is forced to confront his past after an eye-opening interview with a reporter has a 4 star Tribute user rating. Big Hero 6 (4.4 Tribute star user rating) also dropped one spot to number five and earned over $6 million in its sixth week. ~Kelly Townsend
