Furious 7 production delayed following Paul Walker’s death

After the untimely death of star Paul Walker, who died in a car crash over the weekend, production of the newest movie in the Fast and Furious franchise has been delayed indefinitely. Paul, who starred as Brian O’Conner in all but one of the Fast and Furious movies, had not completed his work on the film before his death  — however, he had filmed the majority of his scenes. Due to this as well as giving cast and crew time to grieve, executives at Universal Pictures have cancelled production until further notice. Production was set to resume today following the holiday break, but executives need time to figure out what to do about the storyline. It is unclear whether they will keep Paul’s storyline or scrap it completely. The cast was due to travel to Abu Dhabi in January for additional shooting but the trip is on hold and may not happen at all. Currently, Fast and Furious 7 is set to be released July 11, 2014, but executives have not yet decided whether the date will need to be changed.  ~ Brie Davis
