FBI season finale pulled after Texas school shooting

CBS made the quick decision to pull the season 4 finale of the popular crime series FBI after a deadly school shooting in Texas yesterday (May 24, 2022) killed 19 children and two teachers.

The episode in question involved a school shooting that was eerily similar to what occurred in Texas. CBS has not announced whether the episode will be shown at a later date, or shelved indefinitely.

On Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman shot his grandmother, 66, then drove to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where he overpowered a school officer and entered a fourth grade classroom at approximately 11:30 a.m., where he locked himself in before opening fire.

Lt. Christopher Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety told CNN that all the children and teachers who died were inside that classroom. He said a tactical team forced its way inside and was “able to shoot and kill that suspect.’’

There have been 27 school shootings so far this year and it’s only May. That’s not including shootings like the Buffalo massacre. When is the government going to stop handing machine guns over to anyone who wants one?

You are missing a digit, Jack. In the USA, there have been 288 so far in 2022.

I doubt we’ll see change in the States on Gun Control

Afraid to show a TV show about something that happens with regularity and is accepted as normal now is ironic. Just turn on the news every other day to see coverage of another school shooting. Why pretend you want to protect people from the horrors when no action to bring about real protection ever takes place? Hiding your head in the sand doesn’t make it go away.

I feel awful for the children because they were born into a world that chooses to not protect them from access to military grade weapons intended to kill people.

The government isnt the one handing out the guns. Most are bought legally and then taken from those legally possessed areas (like under peoples beds, in closets, etc) by others. If one could gps each gun and keep track of it, when it moves, etc then could prevent such things. Obviously if people didn’t need/want to own guns at all (no need to self protect, paranoia “in case”, or to have to hunt) then no one would be in danger of getting or being shot. Guns are a supremely large market and as such the makers keep manufacturing them: supply and demand. The supply is too easily available and the demand is not for protection nowadays: the demand is becoming a game and people are dying for nothing because of it.

I agree these shootings/killings are outrageously horrible & sickening!!! So are the frequent killings in mostly large cities,& seldom reported/noted by most of the media!!! It’ll require MUCH more than Ineffective ‘gun laws’ to stop the killings!! In reality,, Crazy Sickos would be MUCH Less likely to attack & invade schools, churches, stores, & businesses if they knew they could be confronted by 1, or many, armed, legal, bravely good citizens?? Plus, some other reasonable protective policies could be easily implemented. Another precious 21 Humans murdered needlessly!! Such a heartbreaking disgrace in our mostly wonderfully outstanding Nation??

When the twin towers were hit they didnt ban airplanes. Go to the source of the problem. Theres been over 3000 children murdered in Chicago this year by guns. Where is the outcry? We need tougher laws yes but we need better security in every school in the nation. We need an armed person or persons at every school. The criminals do not obey the rules people! If they want to get their hands on a gun they will.

18 year Olds should not be able to get a gun. Some states it is age 21.Automatic guns should not be aloud. Why did it take so long for the police to go in and take the gun man down? So wrong so many Children lost their lives because they waited 1 hour before going in. Those in charge should be fired.. The President should sign a executive order to band all automatic guns in USA. And bring backroom checks on those buying guns. And a 2 week wait time.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun…the great equalizer! If all law abiding citizens turned in their guns, who would be left holding the guns…the ones who don’t obey the laws.
