Fifty Shades of Grey – who should be cast?

By Tribute on May 18, 2012 | 12 Comments

Just getting over The Hunger Games phenomenon? Well get ready because there’s a new book series taking Hollywood by storm and it won’t be long until the cast is dominating the press—but first that cast has to be put together. Fifty Shades of Grey, the trilogy by E.L. James, has gotten a lot of attention since Universal acquired the film rights in March. From its themes of sexuality and misogyny to its origins as Twilight fan fiction, everyone has an opinion on the series dubbed “mommy porn.” With a film underway soon, the blogosphere has exploded with fantasy casting suggestions for the core characters of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. For those not in the know, Fifty Shades of Grey centers around Steele, a young college graduate who signs complete control of her life over to a manipulative billionaire (Grey). The Vampire Diaries bad boy Ian Somerhalder has expressed a keen interest in playing the dastardly businessman. Somerhalder’s girlfriend Nina Dobrev even told OK magazine she understands the appeal. “I don’t even know the book, but I know there’s a lot of sex or something which I guess is why people are excited, since he’s Damon [on The Vampire Diaries].” The endorsement has been widely approved by diehards of the book series — however — many entertainment news outlets have also suggested True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard or Magic Mike‘s Alex Pettyfer for the role. ~Kyle Sharp [poll id=”372″]

I don’t watch Vampire Diaries, but this guy looks like Rob Lowe in the picture above – an evil Rob Lowe.

I think Ian should definitely get the vote, he’s proven is worth on vamp diaries and can pull off dastardly quite well.

I’ve heard the book is basically soft core porn…doesn’t that mean the movie will be too?

for sure Alexander Skarsgard should play this part. And for ana should be emilia clarke from game of thrones. She is the queen of dragons. Eric is the sexiest vampire!! He is right he is born for this part!!

I believe Ian Somerhalder is the perfect fit and Ana should be played by Nina Dobrev. Emma Stone as Kate. Paul Wesley as Ethan or Elliott.

I’ve only seen the show maybe 3 times when it first started. It’s mostly Fifty shades fans who truly see him as Christian like I do, not Vampire diaries fans so stop trying to make it seem like that’s the reason. He has that sexy intimidating look and I saw only him when I was reading it. I couldnt even think of another actor sexy and beautiful yet somewhat creepy to women of all ages and races except for him. And Kate called Christian creepy so yeah he has to look kind of intimidating. Ian has it all.
