Chace CrawfordSince Zac Efron dropped out of Footloose to pursue more dramatic roles, there’s been a lot of speculation about who will take his place. Paramount announced yesterday that Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford will play the lead role of Ren McCormack in the film, which will be produced and directed by High School Musical‘s Kenny Ortega. A leading lady has not yet been announced for the musical, which begins production in March 2010, but rumors say that Miley CyrusHayden Panettiere and Amanda Bynes have all auditioned for the role of Ariel Moore, a minister’s daughter.

Nate from Gossip Girl…I LOVE him, he is so cute and innocent looking, very hot…I think he’d do good in Footloose.

A little young in my eyes to be “hot”, sorry Carol! I usually agree with you, but on this one, I think he’s more like a cute little boy!

I think that re-makes are okay, but some of the choices of the characters are all wrong. In”Charlie’s Angels”,Drew Barrymore was wrong-she looks like a little girl, and I didn’t like Cameron Diaz much to begin with. I guess it depends on the time it was made. I’m 49, look 30, and dress up-to-date in a size 0, so I’m not thinking “elderly”, but I think that the new generation is about young-looking and immature people, playing some of the characters that I think should not be in the remake. People older than myself, may think that about my generation. It gets worse as time goes on. That is why people say,”the good old days”.

I’ll narrow this down to the question. I’ve watched “Gossip Girl” once, but from the pic, the male lead seems okay. The female lead seems wrong, although I only know of Miley and Amanda. Bad choices! They seem like “little girls”, and are chunky. I guess I see so many people overweight and “casual”, that it makes me think that I do not belong. Oh well, let people be themselves, but again, pick some better people to play- not the same old.And why does almost every movie have to be crude and lude? If I were mayor… well, I wouldn’t last long!

Oh Tributegirl, don’t be a fuddy duddy, be a COUGAR…he is a HOT young lad. I love gossip girl. I like it because the parents have as much drama as the teens, and I love Chase…he’s yummy.
But you are right, he is too young, but oh well, I can pretend I’m still young when I look at him…lol

  6. tributegirl • May 24, 2009 @ 6:45 PM

Ug, sorry Carol, but I just can’t be a cougar when it comes to someone that looks like a little boy! Just kinda goes against my grain I guess!

  7. Carol • May 24, 2009 @ 7:10 PM

Well, t.g…change the grain. He is Hot…very hot. Like…yummy hot. I love him. I think he is a terrific and fresh actor. Has that innocent look, the good boy next door. Imagine if you had a daughter and she brought that home…you’d be drooling…you are only human…lol

I agree with Tributegirl, he looks too young and “boyish”. My “HOT” list, consists of names such as Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Wentworth Miller…and a few others, LOL. 😀

  9. tributegirl • May 24, 2009 @ 7:42 PM

Not Vin Diesel! But I would take Vin Diesel over any little boy though! Sorry Carol, but the little boy look just isn’t my thing!

  10. demigod • May 24, 2009 @ 7:42 PM

Vin Diesel? Ugh. When will that tattooed/chrome dome trendy look go away?

  11. Carol • May 24, 2009 @ 7:45 PM

And the Rock, and David Beckham

  12. tributegirl • May 24, 2009 @ 7:49 PM

The Rock, YES, David Beckham, nope. demigod, I’ve never considered Vin Diesel trendy, not by a long shot! Just something about him I can’t stand!

  14. tributegirl • May 24, 2009 @ 8:07 PM

Hollywood does what, consider that trendy?

  15. Carol • May 24, 2009 @ 8:07 PM

Oh yes, Beckham, especially when he lets his hair grow out a bit.

    Recognize Vin’s look is in..

  17. tributegirl • May 24, 2009 @ 8:20 PM

Ug, well, sorry Hollywood, but Vin’s look has NEVER been in with me!

  18. Nancy • May 24, 2009 @ 9:10 PM

I would seriously consider giving up my lovely “freedom” for Mr. Vin Diesel…seriously! He’s sizzling hot, that boy!

  19. demigod • May 24, 2009 @ 9:46 PM

Well, Hollywood’s target there is the younger crowd..
Even he has to be somewhat moderate for Hollywood..no nose/tongue piercings! 🙂

Yummy or not, remakes are garbage! I am so tired of hollywood trying to remake old classics, the remake is never as good as the original, they just need to come up with new ideas or give up…. I am most unhappy about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake being made, whoever decided to make a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street and not cast Robert England as Freddy Krueger is an absolute idiot, he is Freddy, no one will ever be able to fill his shoes…. and Karate Kid remake UGH!! nothing in this movie is even going to be close to the original it is not even going to be set in the right city…. HOLLYWOOD NEEDS TO GIVE UP!!!
