Former Disney Channel child star joins fight against COVID-19

Jennifer Stone, who played Alex Russo’s (Selena Gomez) bright and bubbly best friend Harper through all four seasons of the Disney Channel hit series Wizards of Waverly Place, has announced via an Instagram post that she is joining fellow healthcare workers on the frontlines to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Having completed nursing school in December 2019, Jennifer is now a registered nurse (RN), although she reveals she will continue to act part-time. On December 21st, she wrote: “It’s been a long road of blood (mostly other people’s), sweat, and tears (those were mine) but I can finally call myself a nursing grad!” She added the tags: #nurselife #actorbyday #nursebynight.

In an Instagram post celebrating World Health Day, in which Jennifer posted her nursing badge and revealed she’d worked as a volunteer and a student nurse prior to becoming an RN, she told her followers: “I just hope to live up to all of the amazing healthcare providers on the front lines now as I get ready to join them.” #worldhealthorganization #supportnurses #westayhereforyou❤️pleasestayhomeforus #covid2020

Coronavirus cases rose to over two million worldwide Tuesday evening, while the United States leads with 623,00 cases and over 27,000 deaths. ~Alexandra Heilbron

How honorable, courageous, and noble of her! Us actors are working humans at the end of the day, except for the mega-stars that just donate mega-buck$ and that’s okay to..

Always loved her in Wizards. Glad to see she’s done something amazing with her life and wish her the best. I hope Americans realize they need to stay at home, now that they’ve lost more than double the amount of people due to COVID than any other country.
