Fourth Transformers film in the works

It looks like we might not have seen the end of the robots in disguise. After superherohype.com posted a story in which producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed that Paramount would produce a fourth Transformers film in 2014, director Michael Bay took to his official site to confirm his participation in the movie. “There has been a lot of speculation about what I’m going to do next and when or if I will do another Transformers. So let me set the record straight,” he said. “I will first do Pain & Gain with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 27, 2014.”

But it seems Bay might be the only one returning for the fourth instalment of the blockbuster franchise. “I don’t think anybody’s doing it,” Josh Duhamel told E! Online. “I know [Shia LaBeouf‘s] not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese [Gibson] or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it. Whenever these movies make that much money, they’re going to make as many as they can. But I haven’t heard anything about it.” So, will there be an entirely new cast? “We’re going to try and do a hybrid where there will be some characters that come forward […] and some characters that don’t,” Bonaventura told superherohype.com. “But it will definitely be a different story.” ~Rodrigo Cokting

Maybe start working towards the Beast Wars?

Thus far, the previous transformers movies were downright disappointing. I don’t see how keeping Michael Bay will help matters; his films seem geared for brain-dead folks who are easily mesmerized by shiny things and explosions. The original transformer cartoons were like Masterpiece Theatre in comparison.

I’m happy I went to the Fabulous last one. But I forgot how he treated Megan, so will NOT go to his other/or potential last sequel! I agree that after the 1st movie they got awfully Boring!!

Going with a different story and new cast is a good idea. Keeping Bay on was smart also since he is the only one who can makes these movies, bringing in another director will just be bad, even if Nolan offerred his services. we all saw how bad “pirates 4” was without Gore and i don’t care how good Depp is, he couldn’t save that mess. Say want you want about Bay being just a eye candy whore. One thing i can say about Bay’s films is that he makes films that make the price I paid for my home theatre worth it. He’s not making “the vow” or “the kings speech”, He makes films that pushes the resources in movie theatres and home theatre. The movie that is spent on updating screens and theatre, they need a product to makes it worth is and Michael Bay is a very good director for that, he really could care less what critics or “fanboys” have to say about his films.

Ummmmm, so Michael Bay is a good director because he doesn’t GAF about his fans? Well that explains allot.

    Beast Wars would be epic.

“Not if the previous movies were bad.”

How were they bad? It was everything is was suppose to be. The second one everyone would agree was a rushed mess but still profitable. The series has made over a billion dollars with Bay. As I said bringing in a wew director like “pirates” films did is suicide and I’m sure Paramount/Dreamworks know that. They know they star behind this francise is Bay, not any of the actors. Do any of us really care about Shia? No. Bay is the face of this francise!!!

Why should Bay care about his fans? He’s going to make the film he wants to make not what the fans want him to make. If Directors began to kiss the fans ass it would be the end of the industry!!!

There is so much wrong with your comments that I honestly dont know where to begin.

By your logic, Bay should add more pointless explosions, some raunchy robot sexscenes, some extra T&A, throw in batman, and some twilight vampires for good measure.. oh and Will Smith… you just can’t have a summer blockbuster without Big Willy. Heck, lets throw in some cameo appearances from Captain Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter while were at it because thats bound to bring in more money for the franchise, and -in the end- that matters more than fans. Right?

  11. Sammy • February 21, 2012 @ 12:15 AM

Funny part is all those pointless explosions, T&A is making a BOAT LOAD of money and all WITHOUT a 20 million dollar paycheck actor like “big willy”, If any thing Bay has PROVED you CAN have a summer blockbuster WITHOUT Depp, Smith, Jolie or Pixar.

Bay has made himself the Staple of this Series, it’s not controled by actors’s and actresses wanting a bigger pay cheack, holding up production, wanting a big trailer… Bay and Speilberg control everything.

Remember “nobody” you can choose not to watch but we all you will watch it and that’s all that matters to Paramount and Dreamworks!!!

Why can’t directors just make new movie instead of trying to squeeze more money out of ones that are completely tapped out.
