French magazine apologizes for Megan Fox misquote

It appears that Megan Fox isn’t as vain as magazines would have you believe. French magazine Jalouse printed a retraction regarding a misquote that appeared in their April issue, saying, “In a Jalouse cover story featuring Ms. Megan Fox, we unfortunately misquoted Ms. Fox. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.” The problems stem from a profile with the 26-year-old starlet released in March. Though the interview was conducted in English, it was later translated into French before being re-translated to English, turning a quote from the Transformers star into, “I would not trade my place with an unattractive girl.” The quote spawned a media frenzy labeling the actress as “superficial,” leaving Fox understandably upset and prompting her to turn to Facebook to dispel reports she said such a thing. “I’ve never made vapid self serving comments and in contradiction am uncontrollably self deprecating.” Later, the expectant mother once again turned to Facebook, thanking the magazine for their apology. ~Kyle Sharp
