Not only do Lindsay Lohan‘s friends believe she’s going to die from substance abuse if she doesn’t get help soon, but the police are also concerned, according to TMZ. However, Lohan refuses to listen. A professional who is extremely close to Lindsay told TMZ, “If she doesn’t get help soon, she’s going to die.” Police officers, who’ve seen Lindsay at her worst, also talked to TMZ about her, saying they’ve considered taking her in for a 5150 evaluation. They say her “erratic behavior” and “attitude” have grown progressively worse in the past few months. Section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code allows police and/or doctors to involuntarily confine a person deemed to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or herself (i.e., suicidal), or is gravely disabled (unable to provide themselves with food, clothing, and/or shelter), but the police decided against it because she didn’t quite meet the qualifications.

Police were called to Lindsay Lohan’s London flat following an intense argument between her and fiancé Egor Tarabasov, where she accused him of “almost killing” her.
Sounds like a perfect candidate for Celebrity Rehab next season.
This B*itch has had chance after chance with Soooooooo much support. She is lucky that people are around that care about her well being. Most people in her position don’t have that kind of support. Just makes me sick that she could care less.
joshua, i dont think its that she doesnt care, i think its that she simply has an addiction. even with help and support breaking free from something you depend on is hard and requires a lot of work and if youre not ready or willing no amount of support or love or care is going to change you. i really do hope someone helps her and gets her clean before she ODS and ends her life short. drugs are really not worth your life. 5150 actually scares me. if you piss off the police or your dr they can basically say they think youre nuts and lock you up until you can prove youre not. the only people that should have that right is you, your parents or your children. no one would know better than you if you are going to kill yourself, im sure your family would see the warning signs though.
Mandee, I agree that it isn’t that she doesn’t care. You have to want to change. I don’t think she has come close to hitting rock bottom to realize the destructive path she is on.
I wonder if she really does have people who care about her well-being. I’m sure there are a lot of people who know her who would say they don’t want her to die, but do they step up to the plate and actively do something to help? Perhaps there good intentions are just enabling her behaviour.
As for section 5150, I’m not sure, but I think there is a time limit they can hold you for. A 24 or 48 hour evaluation period, not indefinite.
i hope she doesnt have to hit rock bottom to finally see what shes doing to herself and those around her, and thats true, when it comes to helping your friends theres not really too many people that can prove they have a real friend in their life that is willing to take that extra step to actually make a difference in someones life. i have one friend. she has never helped me or been there for me when things were hard. the only reason i still talk to her is because without her, im all alone. i know if i was dependent on something and needed her help, shed walk out on me. i hope, for lindsays sake, she does have someone that is trying to physically help her through this. and oh, 24 or 48 hours isnt too bad. i assumed it meant that was it lol.
I have dealt with addition myself and I didnt have anywhere near the support she has. I suppose it makes me mad that with all the help she has she isn’t doing anything about it. The help I never got when I was in need. But that’s my problem i guess.
“Addiction”
I say leave her be. Let what happens, happen. She needs to find her own bottom and she will either quit or die when she gets there.
joshua, sorry to hear no one was there to help you, but the fact that you beat the addiction simply proves youre stronger than lindsay is.
