Fujifilm X-A5 photo by Brianne CoveI was given the chance to test and review the new Fujifilm X-A5, and after using it for a variety of purposes in a variety of surroundings, here’s my verdict.

The camera is very stylish and lightweight, which makes it perfect for your average lifestyle vlogger or amateur photographer. It’s equipped with 4K shooting capability and produces sharp, clear pictures even in low light.

I took the mirrorless camera out for several test runs, making sure to try every feature available. It’s capable of producing excellent photos, as you’ll see in the video above, along with a timelapse option and built-in photo settings, which are almost good enough to skip Photoshop altogether. The low energy Bluetooth option with the free camera app makes it easy to edit on the go.

As amazing as this camera is, there were minor drawbacks. The camera has the capability of shooting 4K video, but at only 15fps (frames per second), the quality was less than I expected. However, when shooting in 1080p, the default is 60fps, making for a crisp, clear, high quality video.

I did miss having a viewfinder, but for some that may not be an issue. Looking at this camera from the viewpoint of an amateur photographer, this is a very nice camera. The 180˚ LCD screen makes it easy for vlogging or taking pictures from an odd angle. The camera also comes equipped with different modes that help you get the look you’re going for without having to do any of the editing in post.

The Fujifilm X-A5 has a cool, retro look and is perfect for Instagrammers, on-the-go vloggers and the everyday person who just wants to keep memories. It’s easy to use, with automatic settings that do everything for you, so you don’t need to be an experienced photographer to enjoy this camera. ~Brianne Cove
