Crew member Mike Huber, who was working on the set of Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation in New Orleans, died Tuesday when an accident occurred. Filming on the movie had just wrapped, and Huber was part of a team tearing down the set when the high-powered scissor lift he was working on tipped over, pinning him underneath and injuring him fatally. Paramount has issued the following statement: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Huber family at this time. The safety of our cast and crew is our top priority and the studio is fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident.” Channing Tatum reprises his starring role in G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation — a sequel to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The film is scheduled to be released to theaters on June 29, 2012.
