Games of Thrones breaks viewing record in Canada

Emilia ClarkeHBO’s Emmy award-winning fantasy series Game of Thrones continues to thrive on HBO Canada.  The series, which will air its sixth season next year, broke viewership records with more than 1.6 million Canadian viewers for the fifth season finale that aired on June 14.

The finale became not only the most-watched Canadian Pay broadcast ever, but the show is the most-watched series on Canadian Pay TV history.

The series consistently wins its time slot, with an average audience of 1.4 million viewers, increasing 11 per cent over season four.

All five seasons of Game of Thrones are now available for streaming online and on-demand. ~Maria-Josee Martinez
