Gangster Squad trailer pulled after The Dark Knight Rises shooting

Warner Bros. confirms that trailers for Gangster Squad have been pulled from theaters after the shooting at The Dark Knight Rises screening in Aurora, Colorado. The trailer is currently in the process of being re-cut and edited before it will appear again on YouTube and in theaters. Originally, the trailer depicted a group of men in trench coats firing through a movie screen into an audience. This scene sickeningly resembles the mass killing at the Colorado midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises where 12 people were killed and 58 injured.
Warner Bros. is also discussing pushing back the movie release date to distance itself from this tragic event. According to The Los Angles Times, the possibility of editing the movie scene so that it is less prominent in the film is also being discussed. Gangster Squad, starring Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn, was originally scheduled for release on September 7. ~Isabelle Khoo

THIS IS BULL…..Why is the entertainment industry being blamed for one idiots behavior? I have seen movies where people get shot in the theater all the time. That doesn’t mean i’m gonna go into a theater and “open fire” on innocent people. America has way to much sympathy for these, for better choice of words “COWARDS!” I say send them all to a private island and let them figure it out..LOL

I understand where you’re coming from Daphne but I think you may have missed the point. It would just be perceived as rather insensitive to have a scene like that in the movie on screens so close to the recent real-life tragedy. It would be like putting Saving Private Ryan in theatres every where 3 months after D-Day. I mean you could, or you could just be respectful and move it back a little.
