George Michael arrested after crash

George Michael, 47, has been arrested after crashing his car into a store. He was reportedly on his way home from London’s Gay Pride parade at 3:35 a.m. Sunday morning when he lost control of his Range Rover and smashed it into a photo store near his home in Hampstead, North London. The crash buckled a door frame and shattered windows of the Snappy Snaps shop. George, who ended a two-year drug driving ban last year, was arrested and held on suspicion of being unfit to drive. After an interview with police, he was released on bail. The former WHAM! star was banned from driving for 24 months after he was found slumped at the wheel of his car in North West London in May 2007. He admitted being under the influence of illicit substances. Shortly after the ban was lifted, George was again held on suspicion of being unfit to drive after colliding with a truck late at night on a motorway in Berkshire, England. He was eventually released without charges. George has been ordered to return to the police station in August pending inquiries.

i think they should take away his license, he is endangering the lives of innocent people, what if someone had been in that store? what if it was daylight and not half way through the night? if you cant be a careful driver, you have no right driving. driving is a privilege, not a right.

I agree, Mandee, but taking away his licence would do what?? Doesn’t mean it’ll actually stop him from driving. Bet during that 2-year ban, he was still driving, just a little more discretely. Unfortunately, taking away a driver’s licence doesn’t guarantee anything.

The guy has enough money, why doesn’t he just hire a driver for crying out loud??

i was wondering why he doesnt have a driver as well. and maybe they should enforce him to have one of those breathalyzers in his vehicle so he CANT drive when theres alcohol on his breath.
