George Michael was arrested Saturday morning at about 1 a.m. after crashing his Land Rover, according to the BBC. Michael had just completed a two-year driving ban when he crashed his car into a seven-ton truck in London. The ban stemmed from a 2007 arrest when the singer was found to be driving while under the influence of a variety of drugs. Michael was released from custody on Saturday without being charged. After the accident, the truck driver, Laurie Rowe, told the British newspaper Daily Mirror: “Michael seemed completely disoriented, like he had no idea what was going on. He looked totally dazed and even tried to climb into the cab of my [truck].” Rowe says he was amazed that Michael was able to walk away from the accident: “When I…got out to see what had happened, I didn’t think he would have survived.” Michael has since released a statement saying he was “stone cold sober” at the time of the accident.
