Gerard Depardieu urinates in plane

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 17, 2011 | 29 Comments

A passenger on an Air France plane bound for Dublin Tuesday evening told France’s Europe-1 radio that Academy Award-nominated actor Gérard Depardieu, 62, peed in the aisle just before take off. Identified only as Daniele, the witness said Depardieu appeared to be drunk and told a member of the cabin crew: “Je veux pisser, je veux pisser” (I want to pee). A flight attendant told Depardieu to remain in his seat for the next 15 minutes because the plane was on the runway, about to take off.  “And there and then he stood up and did it on the floor,” Daniele said. “We could see he had been drinking. The stewardess was dumbfounded.” The plane had to return to the gate, where Depardieu was escorted off, along with his two companions who were also on the plane. The incident delayed the flight for almost two hours. Air France and CityJet, an Irish carrier that operated the flight, used humor as they confirmed the incident via Twitter. “As you may have seen on the news, we are busy mopping the floor of one of our planes this morning,” they tweeted Wednesday. “We’d also like to remind all passengers that our planes are fully equipped with toilet facilities.” Depardieu, who starred in My Father the Hero with Katherine Heigl, was nominated for an Academy Award for playing the title role in Cyrano De Bergerac, and won a Golden Globe for his performance in the 1990 comedy Green Card, co-starring Andie MacDowell.

That’s him? Oh man, has he changed. I hope he gets help for his addiction. All that booze doesn’t seem to be doing him any good.

  2. Doris • August 17, 2011 @ 11:09 PM

what a PIG who the hell does he think he is. I hope people like that falls on there face as they think people owe them something or they’re above the law.

  3. Tayderhead • August 18, 2011 @ 1:06 AM

Some stars think you should be honoured to have their wee wee’s on your floor……and for FREE!!!!

  4. Rita • August 18, 2011 @ 6:38 AM

The airline could have delayed the plane for TWO MINUTES so he could have gone to the bathroom, for heaven sakes!! So you mean to tell me that you delayed the plane, for TWO Hous after he went, but Couldn’t give him TWO minutes before you left?? People are So Uptight about committing to a Rigid Skedule and that leads to problems! Why don’t you considr People’s Feelings for a change.

So what if a few passengers are 2 minute’s late in landing at their final destinations??

  5. Germain • August 18, 2011 @ 7:12 AM

He looks like Julia Childs on this picture. He wa just drunk, that’s what drunk people do.

  6. jjjones • August 18, 2011 @ 8:43 AM

With the number of flights that go in and out of airports today, a two minute delay could put them in the way of a plane trying to land. It’s not the airline’s fault that some drunk was too out of it to pee before that or that he couldn’t wait 15 minutes to relieve himself. The hole thing is just gross.

  7. Sue Troth • August 18, 2011 @ 9:13 AM

How about following Mother’s rule? Always pee before you go anywhere. What a slob.

  8. Tayderhead • August 18, 2011 @ 10:53 AM

    Excellent point Rita!

  9. TheTruth • August 18, 2011 @ 12:02 PM

    Whoa he got really fat!

Seriously though, anyone who drinks knows that sometimes you have to really go badly cause of the alcohol. If you’re on a plane in a car walking on the street and you just can’t hold it in anymore, you’re going to stop doing what you’re doing and go. It’s the flight attendant’s fault for not realizing what kind of emergency situation it was. If your kid was denied to go to the bathroom in class, and they went in their pants – would you call them a slob?

  10. C-Dub • August 18, 2011 @ 12:02 PM

Gross. But I agree if they’d have just asked him to be quick about it then he wouldn’t have golden showered the plane.

Pity, the public opinion of some, is as moronic as he is. The airlines have schedules, the point is, they are not a classroom, like some like to use in their example. They are a multi-million dollar organization, that do have tight schedules. I am repeating what one commented, they screw up the works for all flights, others taking off, landing etc.
If you let one go, then you have to make the exception for all, or you have a mutiny aboard.
The guy is a low class slob, that obviously over indulges in all. I don’t care who you are, this is not even close to been acceptable. There is a reason for rules, and his kind are not above them.
Don’t make excuses for Drunks, they cost society billions every year. Not to mention the personal devastion to those involved with a drunk.
Plain and simple, its not up to the airlines to make exceptions for so called stars. They need to follow the rules and regulations like everyone else. Drunk or sober.
Kudo’s, to the airline, for enforcing their rules.
Just stop and think, if they make the allowance for this one drunk star, stop and think what the expectations will be of other celebrities. There will be no end to it.The airlines are not ruthless, I have seen them make many compassionate exceptions for many like disabled individuals, and yes mothers with screaming children.
But please, for a Drunk that has to pee, be real.
Anyone that thinks the airline was at fault, Is probably someone who thinks far too highly of themselves, and that the world owes them a living, and no doubt would commit the same act, if denied.
Time for all to wake up, and give their heads a shake.
Stars are just people like you and me, with hugely over inflated ego’s. Thank god, some one is willing to reign them in.

  12. Jean • August 18, 2011 @ 1:02 PM

Hey Germain…That’s an insult to Julia Childs.

  13. Sheilah • August 18, 2011 @ 1:31 PM

Apparently, not many people are aquainted with the French. If only I had a nickel for each time I’ve seen a Frenchman whip it out and piss in public. Apparently, they have little control over their bladders….no sphincter power! Mongrels

  14. Tayderhead • August 18, 2011 @ 1:37 PM

Hey Kelene Neitzel…..good job there is at least one other poster on this thread besides yourself who is not a moron! Talk about people who think too highly of themselves and who have over inflated ego’s. See any fingers pointing at you??? BTW…you could use a crash course in spelling. “Not even close to been acceptable” ????? You did mean being, right??? And….do you even know what a mutiny is….it doesn’t apply in this situation. Time for YOU to wake up and give YOUR head a shake…there ARE other opinions that differ from you own….thank goodness. Make sure you don’t bang your nose on any of those high beams up there, it could hurt. I would like to point out to you that anyone on this thread who thinks the airline is at fault is not a person who would necessarily pee on the floor as he did, as you have insinuated. You make very rude, insulting, and broad assumptions about those who have different views.

  15. Tayderhead • August 18, 2011 @ 1:42 PM

LOL Sheilah……I once had a guy standing and pissing on my back tire in the parking lot of a variety store in broad daylight. I noticed him as I was backing up to leave. I kept backing up and there he was still standing there pissing away. I rolled down my window and called him a thing or two before I left. Maybe where he comes from, but we don’t do things like that in Canada.

  16. Wendy • August 18, 2011 @ 2:46 PM

A very sad state of affairs….he’s bloated and now his social conscience is not working…..What a shame.

  17. tammy • August 18, 2011 @ 3:40 PM

wow so many things to say don’t know where to start first if your a drinker and you know your going on a plane go to washroom quickly before you board as for the flight attendant she is doing her job and planes do have a schedule to follow wouldn’t you be pissed if you were the next one boarding and you had to wait 2 hours because of some has been drunk who couldn’t hold it? I for one hate airports so I would be pissed if I had to wait 2 hours. There have been times where i did have to go when I boarded so I went straight to the bathroom did my business and then found my seat and put my bag away and people were still boarding not that difficult to do but I guess he’s drunk and a oscar nominee than it’s forgivable ( as I roll my eyes) and how much of pig can you be that you actually take your shlong out in front of a flight attendant and pee right in front of her? How drunk can you be to stoop that low I would be embarassed for him

  18. Mary • August 18, 2011 @ 5:10 PM

That’s disgusting, why didn’t he go before boarding he must have felt the urge coming on. Who do these celebrity jerks think they are Gods?

  19. Lola • August 18, 2011 @ 9:11 PM

    Excellent point Rita!

Maybe he could not wait any longer… Let’s not get judgemental. I’m sure many of us have been in a situation that you could not make it and an unfortunate situation came out of that.

  20. Doris • August 18, 2011 @ 9:26 PM

agree with jjjones what if every more people had to go then its longer than a 2 min. delay still say he’s a pig.

  21. Celeb • August 18, 2011 @ 9:43 PM

Why didn’t he just pull a barf bag out of the seat holder on front of him. They’re water proof. He could have peed on that an emptied it later. It’s really not worth debating.

  22. Kelene Neitzel • August 19, 2011 @ 3:03 AM

Hey Tayderhead, by the sounds of it, you like to spout off, just for the sake of been heard or noticed. Not much of what you said even made any sense.
Yes! I know what a mutiny is, I was using it as an example. You, indeed!!! have no ability to think outside of the box.
I will make sure my housekeeper, cleans off my nose prints off the ceiling. If you are what represents society, (which is highly unlikely), then I deserve to be at the top.
So, I had a typing error, resulting in a minor spelling mistake, Is that the best you can come up with is to insult my spelling. You, are the one that is truly the pathetic one.
Are you really so low grade, that you can’t see how disgusting his behavour was. But by your comments you no doubt worship low lifes like him.
Climb back in your box. I wasn’t critizing society, I was pointing out how totally unacceptable his actions were. If you can’t see that, that is your problem, not mine. Talk about mouthing off about others opinions, check out who’s looking back at you in the mirror.

  23. Iamfrenchandthisisgay • August 19, 2011 @ 7:05 AM

I can see French people are very classy.

  24. TheTruth • August 19, 2011 @ 12:24 PM

Kelene Neitzel, If you’ve ever been piss drunk you would know that sometimes you just have to go really bad, and there is a breaking point where you just can’t hold it in anymore.

Should Gerard have gone before boarding as some others have suggested? Yes, of course he should have – but he didn’t. That is why the flight attendant had to make a judgement call, and they chose wrong. Thinking Gerard was just some blabbering drunk, they chose to ignore him.

I know its not the same, but I’ve been so drunk and suddenly I had to barf, but literally couldn’t hold it for 10 steps to make it to a toilet. That was a not a pleasant dinner party lol

Anyhow, I won’t bother responding to your trolling any further in this thread, good day.

  25. K.N. • August 19, 2011 @ 1:32 PM

Tayderhead, As I suspected, Takes one to know one,
Why else would one defend such disgusting beh.
Not even a reasonalbe excuse or defense.
Because I over drank like a glutton, and am now obnoxious and disgusting, I should be allowed to do as I wish. So everyone stand back, and lets, just let the drunks do as they wish. After all, what a great defense. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!
For every action there is a consequence. And we should all be accountable for our actions. Drunk or Sober.

  26. Repulsed • August 19, 2011 @ 5:08 PM

OMG!!!!!!! WTH, is the matter with tayderhead defending this pig. It is fairly obvious, you, ….yourself have a serious drinking problem. Only a drunk or one with no social skills, would defend this swine.
May we suggest you seek some addiction counselling.
There is a reason airlines etc……, have washrooms with doors and locks on them.
He is not a toddler with no bladder control, he is a full grown, actually over grown adult male. That could of and should of held his urine. This subject needs to be shut down, enough already, but anybody with any social graces would not do this.

  27. nobody important • August 20, 2011 @ 4:05 AM

I have had it with these motherfing urinators on this motherfing plane!”.

  28. yay • August 20, 2011 @ 8:15 PM

    OMG WHAT A TOTAL PIG!
@Doris, too bad he didn’t fall on his face…in a puddle of his own urine!
@Germain, too funny. OMG he’s so nasty looking, how can they even cast that in movies?? I get the idea of keeping it real with real-looking ppl, but this is too much!
