Glee actor Cory Monteith checks into rehab

Canadian actor and musician, Cory Monteith, 30, who is known for his role as Finn Hudson on Fox’s Glee, has “voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction,” according to his rep, “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.” Monteith dropped out of high school when he was 16 and at the time, realized he had a serious problem. He felt his life was “out of control,” therefore went in for treatment when he was 19. He’s been open about his substance abuse and in 2011, he told Parade he was “lucky to be alive.” His co-star and real life girlfriend, Lea Michele, stands by her man’s side as she is proud and supportive of his decision to enter rehab. A rep for Glee tells E! News: “Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”~E. Guevarra

Better late than never. It’s great that he’s admitting to his problem and doing something about it. Can Lindsay Lohan take a hint already?

I’m shocked and saddened:( He didn’t seem the type (of course, with roles like in Glee) but I think he’s brave recognizing that he needs help and doing something about the addiction. Kudos to you Finn Hudson!

It’s good he took the step himself and wasn’t forced into rehab. He knows he has a problem and wants to correct it. If only other could take the intuitive, and learn from Cory!
