Grammys to feature 3D Michael Jackson tribute

Michael JacksonThe Grammy Awards are planning a tribute to honor the late Michael Jackson. The broadcast, which will air live from Los Angeles on January 31, will feature a never-before-seen 3D clip Jackson made for his hit “Earth Song,” as part of his series of London comeback shows. “The song was so important to him,” said Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich. To fully appreciate the clip, viewers should wear 3D glasses, which will be distributed through Target shops in the US. The awards will also be broadcast live at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, the site of Jackson’s memorial service, and attendees will also receive a pair of 3D glasses. Unfortunately, Canada doesn’t have any Target stores, but 3D glasses that come with any 3D DVD purchase will also work. The clip will be accompanied by performances from Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and Usher.

I wanted to see it in 3D but i live in Canada and i don’t have any alternative glasses. As long as i’m tuned in, it shouldn’t really matter. This performance will be awesome. Judging from clips i’ve seen from the This is It documentary MJ`s concert would have been the talk of the town.

I can’t wait to see the new 3D effect since i have seen THIS IS IT 5 times since it was released. I only wish that more was done for him while he was alive. We all miss you MJ.

Uh, not quite “all” of us miss him, lisa.

I’m sick of hearing it. He’s gone. Yeah, remember him but remember that not all of us want to mourn forever. Some of us need to move on. The Jacksons and everyone else are denying me the ability to stop crying over this crap and just get on with life. People live, people die. Some are great, as MJ was, but there are many great people who are unknown and are heros bigger than MJ, they might be in your own family. Do people mourn over them as long as we have over Michael? Bah Humbug!

Michael was a legend and a hero to most of us,his music was an inspiration in our generation.People come and go but their work still lives on.Let’s move on and bring hope to the future.

Michael’s energy kept us going,he was the king of pop music.Let’s keep the energy alive.

@Carol – who is asking you to mourn forever? It’s the first Grammy telecast since his death and he is a music legend…..of COURSE they are going to do a huge tribute to him. Well deserved, I might add and about time an award show does him justice. If you’re not interested, don’t watch but there are many of us who miss him and are excited for this tribute. You people who continue to whine about attention being paid to Michael make me sick. What’s going to happen when his doctor is brought up on manslaughter charges? We’re going to have to listen to you moaners go on and on about Micheal being “in the news” again, that’s what. Yeah, heaven forbid the person responsible for his death should be brought to justice…. I mean he’s dead, so let’s just drop it right? Disgusting.

This guy is my hero,he wasn’t just a legend he was myth. His extra ordinary dance moves electrified me when I was growing up.He is special and deserves the best.Rest in peace.

    Strenge,his music stil rocks.

He was a myth? That’s funny, I thought he was real!

It’s ridiculous that we can’t get the glasses in Canada. How many people actually purchase 3D movies??? That is…until Avatar comes out on DVD. Just another example of Canada not being included in experiences produced by American networks.

LESSON: When there are 3D glasses available, buy extras and put them away. I bought the Hannah Montana ones for her 3D movie at Walmart a few years back. I also bought a few extra pair as well and put them all away after watching the show with my kids because when you need them, they are nowhere to be found, right? I bet I looked totally awesome wearing those teenie-bopper, purple, covered with Hannah Montana logos 3D glasses on my face, hahaha. I’m not a MJ fan though so, I don’t think I’ll pull out the stash of 3D glasses for the Grammies on Sunday night.
