Halloween posterRob Zombie‘s Halloween remake frightened off the competition at the weekend box office, opening in the top spot with a take of $26.5 million (all figures US). The top movie for the past two weeks, Superbad, was knocked to second place with $12.2 million. Balls of Fury debuted in third, grossing $11.6 million, while The Bourne Ultimatum dropped two spots to fourth, with a total North American gross just shy of the $200 million mark. Rounding out the top five was Rush Hour 3, earning an additional $8.5 million for a total take of $120.4 million.
