Daniel RadcliffeDaniel Radcliffe, aka Harry Potter, has signed on to play a young man who was stoned to death in Somalia. Journey, about the civil war in the African country, will be the 18-year-old actor’s most serious film yet, following closely on the heels of roles in the Australian drama December Boys and the TV movie My Boy Jack. He will play Dan Eldon—a 22-year-old British photojournalist who was one of four killed in the 1993 attack. Actors such as Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom, Joaquin Phoenix and Ryan Phillipe reportedly were interested but Eldon’s family chose Radcliffe. Eldon’s mother Kathy said: “We resisted a lot of older actors because Dan was a boy emerging into manhood.”

should be good. It will help him break out of his harry potter image.

As long as he doesn’t wear a pair of glasses, he should be perfectly believable as this character. And exactly how could Heath, Joaquin, or Ryan pull off being 22 anymore???

Good for the family picking him and good luck to Daniel in the role.

Wow, that should be a very emotional movie. Must be hard for the Eldon family to have to relive what they went through, but by bringing this story into the public eye with a popular, well-liked young actor playing their son, maybe this will give them some healing that they need. Daniel, give it your all!!!

OMG, am I the only one who thinks that Radcliff is a really bad actor? He absolutely sucks as Harry Potter, in my opinion.
Is Zac Effron really going to do the last 2 Potter movies?

Let’s see how well Zac does after Danny boy. I still think Sean Connery was the best James Bond.

You can bet Zac will make the role his own. I’m actually really jazzed about the last two movies now!

Zac isn’t playing Harry in the last two movies-Dan, Emma, and Rupert have all signed on.

    good luck Dan!!

Leaving the “Harry” franchise behind will make Radcliffe a better actor in the long run. The series has become stale and Efron will inject some much-needed energy into the proceedings.

Radcliffe has always been a lousy actor; he’s the Andrew Raycroft of his generation.

I really love Zac Efron and all, but if he acts as Harry Potter I am so gonna kill someone. Dan is the only actor who can do it and in my opinion, he is a great actor.
