Harry Potter author offers $3M reward

J.K. Rowling has offered a $3 million reward for the safe return of a four-year-old British girl who went missing while on vacation in Portugal, reports the British paper News of the World. Madeleine McCann, disappeared May 2 from her hotel room when her parents left her and her twin brother and sister, both two years old, alone while they went to a nearby restaurant. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books, is not the first celebrity to offer a reward. American Idol judge Simon Cowell has put up $99,000 and Sir Richard Branson is offering $198,000.
