Hayden Panettiere wants co-star fired after breakup

Hayden Panettiere and ex-boyfriend Stephen CollettiHayden Panettiere, 19, must be feeling pretty bitter about her breakup with Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia, 31, because according to OK! magazine, she’s trying to get him fired from the show. Ventimiglia dumped Panettiere because of her immaturity, and it looks like he made the right decision. “She refuses to be on the set at the same time as him,” a mutual friend told OK!. “She is making it difficult for everyone involved.” (Her rep denies this). As for Milo, “He’s not going to play any games or stoop to her level,” says the friend. Hayden is further showing her maturity by making sure she’s seen in public with a slew of older men, including Anthony Kiedis, 46, her ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti, 23, and Gerard Butler, 39. Watch out Gerard, she might try to get you fired from your next film! Teenage diva,  anyone?

    Total diva moves..alleged.

  2. pete • March 13, 2009 @ 9:50 AM

So, let me rehash the whole “diva” debate based on the story a couple days ago. Based on what the original story said, it was on the red carpet of some publicity event. Therefore, I think it is unfair to lump the photographers there as paparrazzi, as that usually connotes people who are going around looking for pics outside real events. And the person who asked for the interview was a reporter. I know, none of us were there, but basically any celeb who shows up at an event like that should be expecting their picture taken and being interviewed. This wasn’t during her private/personal time. I think those were “diva” moves on her part.

But in this case, it is less diva, and more unprofessional and immature. And that picture kind of sums it up — the pose/stance is such posturing. It is the same as a Chris Brown one shown in an earlier story. I have come to associate it (fairly or unfairly) with an attitude of self-absorbed pseudo-coolness. I don’t consider it something a mature adult would do. (Yes, I am an “older” person, and have my biases.)

Okay, Hayden, we get it. You’re young. You’re pretty. You think that you’re some kind of actress because you’re on a hit TV show playing a pretty cheerleader. Isn’t it time for you to join the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and the rest on some future reality show “The Ultimate Diva”?

  4. whatever • March 13, 2009 @ 11:36 AM

the person who writes these little stories for tribute sounds just as young as hayden….

  5. Beanie • March 13, 2009 @ 11:37 AM

They should take a lesson from Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush – they not only kept on working together after their break up but had an onscreen romance while they were separating. Good professionalism!

Anyone remember the last article about Hayden Panettiere? When she snapped at the paparazzi? Looks like Nancy was right about the “diva” thing afterall.

Whats she doing dating a guy that much older anyway? Ew.

  7. Moira • March 13, 2009 @ 12:36 PM

She better be careful how she acts on set or she will find that she is the one written out of the show. Easy to replace a young blonde actress. And her actions today will reflect on her tomorrow when she goes to audition for other jobs once Heroes is finished.

I can see a mature guy preferring sweet young meat, but you gotta know it comes with immaturity.
No pete, that was fair 🙂

  10. lily • March 13, 2009 @ 6:57 PM

Pete, that is a very persuasive set of comments! I have to say that Hayden is quickly going from one of my favourite young actresses into the spoiled brat pack full of other kids who got rich and famous too darned fast…

  11. poppy • March 13, 2009 @ 8:18 PM

Wow, fame has got to her head just like every other young hollywood girl. And Milo is HOT!!

  12. ke • March 13, 2009 @ 10:17 PM

she was always on my nerves but now its just pure annoying. i believe she’s immature but my question is why whenever we see her out in public she’s putting on this act of ‘sophistication’. i saw an interview of hers on letterman and she was dressed up ‘older’ and talked ‘older’. i guess she’s playing pretend.

  13. demigod • March 13, 2009 @ 10:36 PM

ke, it’s like Chris Brown singing syrupy r&b ballads on stage as the performer, then in his personal life he’s the gangsta pimpin’ ho slappin’ abusive self, who needs a girl like Rihanna to use as nature’s punching bag.

    Thanks, nat! 😀

But what I meant is now that it is “official”, nobody can dispute it, sooo…..if a “certain someone” says it, I wonder what’s gonna happen.

If anyone is going to get fired it’s her. Milo is the most important character on the show. He’s always involved in the main story lines and he usually brings it all together in the end.

Hayden’s character is also important, but her story lines are always the same – damzel in distress – and the whole thing is getting kind of old.

are you implying that shes no longer a good actor, because shes acting her age?

    demigod on March 13, 2009 10:36 pm

and now time for a differing opinion…i dont see how this makes her “immature” or a “diva”. i completely understand. you imagine you are in a relationship, all of a sudden you are broken up, do you really want to have to deal with seeing them everyday? ESPECIALLY when THEY broke up with YOU?? she isnt being immature, shes acting her age, and shes acting like any other broken hearted woman would. clearly, its the wrong thing to say “choose him, or me” because you cant FORCE someone to choose and usually when you do, its you that gets the boot. i know, from experience, when me and my ex broke up and we worked together (one of the exs i LIKED), i didnt want to be anywhere near him. i didnt want to work before or after him because it was too hard for me. also, even now when he comes in (a year later) it still really gets to me. so, i can see where she is coming from, and thats exactly why you shouldnt have work related relationships. once its done, youre stuck dealing with that person on a daily bases and its heart breaking, terrible, hurtful. so, as far as im concerned, this only makes her more human.

  18. lily • March 14, 2009 @ 5:05 PM

I think it makes her extremely unprofessional, viciously vindictive, AND incredibly immature, to try and get someone FIRED because of personal reasons. i.e. It has nothing to do with his work-related skills whatsoever. If SHE doesn’t want to work near him, SHE SHOULD QUIT!

Mandee, I’m not implying anything at all about her acting skills. When I said she’s no longer “one of my favourites”, I was admitting that my feelings about celebrities does affect how engaging I find them. For example, I can no longer stand to listen to anything by Chris Brown. Well, that’s not a fair example, since I wouldn’t actually have a clue if I were listening to him or not. LOL! Oh, here’s a better one. After the whole OJ Simpson trial, I went from really enjoyed those goofy movies he did with Leslie Nielssen (another great Canadian) to being unable to watch them at all. How could I giggle at the antics of a cold-blooded double murderer?

Just my opinions. Didn’t mean to get so worked up, but I really do think Hayden’s behaviour on this one is disgusting. I still respect everyone’s right to have another opinion!

  19. CB • March 14, 2009 @ 8:18 PM

are you serious? who the hell is this kid?

  20. ke • March 14, 2009 @ 11:38 PM

hear hear lily! if hayden is trying to boot him out because he broke up with her…can you say bit-ter?
what;s she gonna say? can you kill him off because he dumped me? this makes her even more immature. i can totally and wholly understand that it would be uncomfortable but still. i mean yes, she’s human because she’s broken hearted but what if she really was a lot to handle and milo did the best thing for him and probably for her…why should he get punished?
also, she should be ready to face the consequences of dating someone you work with. she should’ve thought it could happen.

i say all this IF this IS true.

  21. mandee • March 15, 2009 @ 3:11 AM

lily on March 14, 2009 5:05 pm talking about a woman beater and a cold blooded murdered and comparing them to someone who doesnt want to work with their ex, is a pretty bad comparison if you ask me. isnt she only 19? she has every right to act immature, and HER AGE with this situation. i think everyone ELSE is over reacting, and if the producers or directors (whatever they are called lol) had such a problem with her saying that, perhaps THEY should have said to HAYDEN “dont make us choose because we will pick milo. just try to work it out for the sake of your jobs” then this wouldnt even BE IN the news and no one could judge her for acting like a 19 year old GIRL. like i said, i was 23 and i was HOPING and waiting for the day my ex quit or was fired from my work….only took 6 months for him to stop doing his job and be fired.

    ke on March 14, 2009 11:38 pm

that doesnt make her “IMMATURE”…it makes her 19.

  22. tributegirl • March 15, 2009 @ 8:21 AM

mandee, I totally see your point, it would be extremely hard to work with an ex, which is why having a relationship with a co-worker is rarely ever a good idea in the first place, but I also see what lily is saying. Whether Hayden is 19, or 29, doesn’t matter, she really has no right to try to get him fired. From the sounds of it, you were pretty uncomfortable with your situation, and hoped he’d either quit or get fired, but you didn’t actually try to get him fired, so I think you went about it in the same way any reasonable person would. I really don’t think most 19 year olds would actually try to get him fired, no matter how uncomfortable the situation was, I think Hayden is very spoiled and selfish. After all, if she doesn’t want to work with him, she can quit.

  23. mandee • March 15, 2009 @ 1:53 PM

yeah, thats true. i can see where you and lily are coming from when its worded that specific way. maybe it is just because shes spoiled. being rich im sure does that to you lol.

  24. r0ckst4r • March 15, 2009 @ 2:13 PM

mandee, I see your point. Being in a semi-serious relationship at the age of 19 would be a big deal. And I do feel bad for her if she got her heart broken, but she should have thought about a possible awkward break-up BEFORE she got into a relationship with a co-star. I realize she’s only 19 and is still immature but as a professional actress she should have thought about the consequences of her actions and the effect they could have on the show. Trying to get to Milo fired just because he broke up with her is irresponsible and immature.

I completely agree with you, dating a co-worker is probably the worst idea ever. And most 19 yr old girls and guys for that matter, are mature enough to understand that you separate your romance from your employment/school and if things dont work out, you dont try to sabotage the other person. As for the older guys; No guidance from anyone, thats her problem.
