Heidi Montag has undergone plastic surgery to reduce the size of her augmented breasts. She has cited health risks as the reason behind her decision to have her breasts reduced in size. “Sometimes when I’m just sitting there, my breasts hurt so bad, I just wanna, like, rip them off,” she told Entertainment Tonight. After years of health problems, she has decided that breast reduction is the best course of action. I have a ruptured disc in my neck, the nerves are pinching my spine, and then I’m having severe back problems with my muscles on my right shoulder,” Montag explained. “And my spine is being pulled forward from the weight of my breasts.” Although she is relieved to have undergone the reduction surgery, she claims some of the blame must go to her former doctor.
“I do regret getting the implants,” she confessed. “I wasn’t warned by my doctor at all about back problems, about the repercussions. My new doctor was like, ‘You should never have been allowed by the doctor to get implants this big.’ I put my security and sexuality in my breast size instead of my confidence.” Dr. Frank Ryan, Montag’s former plastic surgeon, died in a car accident in August 2010 when he drove off a cliff while texting on the Pacific Coast Highway outside of Los Angeles. Several months previous, he famously performed 10 plastic surgeries on Heidi Montag in 24 hours.
