Helena Bonham Carter says she is not weird

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 10, 2010 | 5 Comments

Helena Bonham Carter, who’s known for portraying unusual, eccentric and oddly evil characters, such as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland, insists she’s not really weird in real life. She’s engaged to director Tim Burton, with whom she has two children — two-year-old daughter Nell and seven-year-old son Billy — and believes the misconception may be due to him. She told Psychologies: “I’m sure it’s because I’m with Tim Burton. He looks weird, apparently. We don’t comb our hair. And everyone thinks we live in a weird house with an underground tunnel and our children live down the road. There are so many myths about us but the reality is nothing more interesting than two houses knocked together.” She adds, “I feel utterly conventional but, apparently, I’m not… and I definitely have a low boredom threshold.”

They’re maybe a little offbeat, but there’s nothing wrong with that, right?!
