Hilton fans petition to “Free Paris”

By Alexandra Heilbron on May 8, 2007 | 32 Comments

Paris HiltonParis Hilton‘s fans have created a website asking people to sign a petition to keep the heiress out of jail. They’re hoping for one million signatures before June 5th, the date the 26-year-old has to report to a California detention center. “No heiress deserves to go to jail,” says site co-founder and campaign organizer, Kyle Vincent. “I’m dedicated to providing this outlet for friends and fans to show their support for Paris.” Vincent started the site May 4th, when he heard of the court sentencing. They even have merchandise for sale, including “Free Paris” T-shirts, bumper stickers and onesies.

LOL….NO ONE should be immune to getting out of jail free, just becuase they are a celebrity . You do something that breaks the law. SUCK IT UP. Be an adult and pay for your mistakes. She needs a reality dose and a taste of REAL life and not one made of money.

Give her some time to be humble and to wipe that constipated smile off her face. Anybody commin to her rescue by signing a petiton needs a reality check.

  3. Logan • May 8, 2007 @ 5:28 PM

Maybe she’ll get a nice girlfriend in jail… just kidding!

But seriously, if you break the law you must accept the consequences, no matter how famous or rich or popular you are! Besides it’ll be a good reality check for Paris’ meaningless life so far.

i heard the jail is like a resort anyways… so who cares

  5. Anonymous One • May 8, 2007 @ 7:08 PM

I think that Paris Hilton needs to have a taste of reality. Like it says on Yahoo News, “Existence of God Proven, Paris could very well get her ass beaten in jail.” I agree.

She ought to spend some time in jail.
    I hate her.

  7. Pierre • May 8, 2007 @ 7:43 PM

Give me a break! I don’t care if she is rich, cute or even smart. She did something to go in jail, then welcome among the normal people.

“Free Paris”? Are you nuts? She does the crime she does the time.

Who ever set up the website for this should get a life and quit obsessing over some stupid heiress

  9. Guy • May 8, 2007 @ 10:02 PM

Free Paris? .. give me a break!
She, like everyone else, me included .. If we break the law .. we pay the price.
She had no licence from my understanding .. she was over the limit for drinking …
She has to pay the price.
NO IFS ANDS OR BUTTS …

AMEN TO EVERYONE THATS POSTED SO FAR!

I hate Paris more than the next person, and I really think she needs to go to jail to in fact get a dose of reality.

She needs to figure out on her out that she cant get away with whatever the heck she wants and not give a damn about it.

    God I hate her…

Cheers to ‘alex’ for that constipated smile comment!

The quote “No Heiress deserves to go to jail” makes me wonder what the state of shameless fandom is coming to these days. Why does she not deserve to go to jail? It’s already been said, but let me reiterate: If any average person had been DUI, they would be hit the Zero Tolerance policy many governments are taking with this type of situation.

I think Kyle Vincent is really dropping the ball here. Drinking under the influence kills a lot of innocent people every year, and I suspect if Paris had accidently killed a loved one of his, he’d be singing quite a different tune.

No one is above the law, Mr. Vincent. No one. Not even Paris Hilton. Well, except perhaps diplomats.

    PARIS ROCKS!

  13. Paris • May 9, 2007 @ 2:50 PM

No matter who we are, we can’t escape jail time if we break the law. Besides, going through it gives her lots more publicity. Isn’t that what her mother is pushing her towards…More and more publicity!

  14. Sophie • May 9, 2007 @ 3:05 PM

She’s in jail and gets access to the net so she can bitch on myspace about how much of an idiot she is?! I don’t think good ol’ Paris is having too hard of a time. Suck it up butter cup. I’d rather you incarcerated than have to see more pics of your cooner hanging out in all the magazines anymore. So sad daddy couldn’t make bail. Maybe you can make a Jail Life reality show to pass the time. F’en celebrities.

Why is there so much hype about this woman? She’s nothing but a spoiled brat. It’s not like she’s a singer or an actress (there is no nobel prize for attempted chemistry, so her attempts and acting/ singing don’t count).

This is what I forsee: she will do some time in a minimum security prison, rivaling a mid level country club. Then she will emerge rebourn as a new person with a whoel new outlook on the world, sign a book deal and a movie of the week telling her heartbraking story.

All in all, the public is bound to suffer.

  16. tommyjerz • May 9, 2007 @ 5:34 PM

all celeberities should have to pay for there crimes and I don’t mean money..its about damn time..this dumb witch better not get off the hook…I’m just so sick and tired of the injustice in this country due to money and influence.

  17. Jacqui • May 9, 2007 @ 10:32 PM

Make her pay a fine – jail is for dangerous people – why waste it on someone harmless?

  18. Ronaye • May 10, 2007 @ 5:09 AM

I feel sorry for someone that has so much going for her in the everything but “brain” department. Her parents are probably drinkers too, and think their “baby” should do what she wants. When I was her age, I drank but would never do anything as uncool so my mother would be ashamed of me. I never drove, but took a cab as I was in the Airlines and would not jeopardize my reputation or my career. She should also do some community work and get her hands dirty, like Bette Midler, who is doing something for her community. The media is not showing young girls what it takes to be a “responsible” person. There are so many that now have “attitude” problems and think they are “above the law” and know more than their parents.

What a wonderful life it would be if we took responsibility for ourselves as good human beings. Yes I agree, what will it take for her to realize how dangerous it is to be driving and not even thinking beforehand that “she could accidentally kill someone”.

  19. Caspell • May 10, 2007 @ 10:18 AM

I ABSOLUTELY think she should go to jail for 3 related DUI convictions!!! what kind of message are we sending to all of her fans – which includes a lot of young people – that it is OK to drive drunk… and then when your licence is taken away its ok to drive without one! Seriously… people need to get their heads out of their a$$! (that means you Kyle Vincent and your petition!!!)

  20. Harry • May 10, 2007 @ 12:45 PM

I would sign the “Free Paris Hilton” mock petition at http://www.myspace.com/freeparishilton. you sign it as the name of a famous person. celebs have more clout anyway.

  21. optimusPrime • May 10, 2007 @ 5:28 PM

What benefit is there to you signing that petiton? Is Paris going to personally thank you for your support? Is she goign to drive her car through your front window while rushing to come to your aid?

So why would anyone sign it? How does her freedom help society? I would put my efforts towards something more meaningful, like blinking.

    🙂

  22. christian lowery • May 14, 2007 @ 11:47 AM

well Paris is an Icon and does NOT need to go to jail she is like my rolemodel GET OVER IT

  23. barbie • May 22, 2007 @ 7:00 PM

well i think if they are going to make paris do the time just to make an example out of her maybe they should start keeping real criminals behind bars too instead of just letting them rome the streets because they claim they have no room for them!! there are people getting to walk the street that are far more dangerous than paris hilton but they are still free how the hell does that make sense?!! i say paris deserves to pay the price for her actions but i think 45 days in jail is a little too harsh. they are just doing that because she is being watched by tons of people!! so i say if paris has to do the time then at least make everyone else do the time for the crimes they commit and stop trying to use paris as an example!

  24. Justin • June 9, 2007 @ 12:18 PM

I thank she should not go to jail. She did nofing wrong. Paris is my IDOL.

  25. Anonymous • June 12, 2007 @ 12:09 PM

If Paris is your idol, your standards are pretty low ‘lol

  26. Anonymous • June 12, 2007 @ 12:13 PM

Will be moved to a better facility, more suitable to her ‘medical’ condition? …’I’ve onkly been here two days, but I’m feeling depressed. Can I go home now’… May be out in two weeks for ‘good’ behaviour. If she eats her cereal I presume ‘lol’. If Paris gets any more breaks, I’m gonna need a huge bucket!!!

  27. Anonymous • June 12, 2007 @ 12:16 PM

If I hear anymore about Paris’ ‘special needs’ I’m gonna have to call in sick!

  28. Kyle Vincent • June 14, 2007 @ 1:45 AM

For the record, I am not the Kyle Vincent who this article is about. Although I did enjoy Paris in her “film” that my friend emailed me, I am a singer-songwriter who has nothing to do with defending Ms. Hilton, unless of course she’d like to hire me to sing at her release party.

  29. Iva • June 19, 2007 @ 8:48 AM
