The One ring is at it again, using its evil power against school kids.
A diehard fan of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit sagas, Aiden Steward, nine, from Kermit, Texas took a replica of the One Ring to school with him last Thursday. After putting the ring on the head of one of his friends and telling him he could make him vanish, his joke seemed to have gone too far. Aiden was later sent home and suspended for threatening a fellow classmate.
Aiden’s father, Jason Steward, told the New York Daily News that Aiden was just being a kid and acting out like kids do, saying, “Kids act out movies that they see. When I watched Superman as a kid, I went outside and tried to fly.” Jason wasn’t too afraid of his son’s powers, writing in an email to the school: “I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.”
This is the third time Aiden has been suspended. One time was for calling another student black and the other was for bringing a children’s encyclopedia called The Big Book of Knowledge, which contained a drawing of a pregnant woman that his teacher decided was not meant for children his age. ~Andrew Siwik
