Home Improvement child actor facing felony charges

Anyone who watched Tim Allen’s sitcom, Home Improvement, will remember the sweet little boy who played Mark Taylor, the family’s youngest son. It turns out the actor, Taran Noah Smith, is all grown up and he’s facing felony charges. Taran, now 27, was arrested early Wednesday morning in L.A. County for driving under the influence. He was also found to be in posesssion of hash, a form of marijuana and is still reportedly being held in custody.

Taran starred in Home Improvement for its entire eight year run and even earned two Young Artist Awards for his role. In 2001, two years after the series ended, at 17 he made headlines after marrying a 33-year-old woman, against his parents’ concerns that she was only in it for his money. The following year, he took his parents to court for control of his US$1.5 million trust fund, which he accused them of squandering on a mansion. This was probably poor decision-making on his part because in 2007, he wound up divorcing his wife and even lost his house to forclosure, with a real estate tear-sheet on the home reading, “Absolutely the worst house in a prime location,” because of the horrible condition it was left in.

One never knows how a child actor will react when he grows up and can not find work as a actor. If someone isn’t on their back and totally watching out for their best interest that person goes down hill. We’ve seen it so many times before.

Why should actors be any different than other people? If you can’t find work in your field then suck it up and find something else to do. No functioning adult should need someone to keep an eye on them…and his parents tried. He just didn’t listen. This is no one’s fault but his own.

Jsut another sad child-star story….When are we going to “mentor” these people when they are young so they can handle the rejection when their child like cuteness has worn off and the next job isn’t coming… so so sad.

I don’t know of many who haven’t driven at least once while intoxicated or anyone who hasn’t tried hash so we’re ALL felons. The only difference is those who get caught and those who don’t. In time, we grow up & know better than to do it.
As for Smith, he’s no longer a child actor….time to get a new career.

Did someone just call him a “star”?? I didn’t know he even did anything besides that show!

Looking at this photo, all I could think was, 1) is this an ugly woman? and 2) I can’t even remember what the littlest son looked like! This picture is not helping, I wish there was a pic of him when he was in the show. As for marrying a 33-yr-old woman at 17, this guy was obviously messed up for some time now.

Hey “Terry’. You need to change your circle of friends. There are people who have neither driven ‘intoxicated’ or done ‘hash’. People like you and young Mr. Smith need to be caught, put in jail and threw the key away! What gives you or him the right to endanger someone elses life and destroy the lives of those who love them?

I agree with Anita if i ever go for a drink even one i surrender my keys only morons drive drunk, or get high and drive.

You’d think he’d learn from Macaulay Culkin: marrying young and parents in it for your $$.

Buddy should get a better agent and suck up the dream and do commercials (big $ in those too).

He died in 1985 but this very personal museum is a
lasting reminder of a very remarkable man.
Mostly a brief history of business surely could control various inventions
and technologies. The free Lyrics Search app is accessible at
