Hotel replaces Bibles with Fifty Shades of Grey

A hotel in the U.K. has removed every copy of the Bible from their rooms and replaced them with copies of E.L. James’ best-selling, erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. In a bold move, Jonathan Denby, owner of Damson Dene Hotel in the Lake District of England, has made the decision that all 40 of his rooms will feature the infamous book. “Tonight, millions of women will be curling up in bed with a good book,” says Denby, “and you can bet your life it won’t be the Bible. More likely than not it will be Fifty Shades of Grey.” Denby claims that he has never personally read the book, but has been told it’s “a ripping good yarn.” The owner has his reasons for replacing the longtime religious staple of hotels everywhere with something a little sexier and insists he didn’t do it for any philosophical reasons. “This made me wonder about the sense of providing a book, the Gideon Bible which no one reads, and many dislike, in the bedside cabinet of our hotel bedrooms, instead of a book which everyone wants to read, such as Fifty Shades of Grey.” ~Devin Garabedian
