Hugh Grant resting after hospital ordeal

By Alexandra Heilbron on March 24, 2011 | 10 Comments

British actor Hugh Grant, 50, was checked into the emergency ward at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London after feeling faint, dizzy and short of breath on Wednesday night. He refused to call an ambulance because he “didn’t want to waste paramedics’ time” and instead, made it to the hospital on his own, waiting for hours to be seen without “making any fuss.” A source at the hospital told the British newspaper The Sun that Grant was an excellent patient who didn’t complain about having to wait, adding, “You’d have had no idea he was a huge star.” Grant was released after being checked out by a doctor and is now resting at home. His spokesperson refused to comment on the matter, so it’s not known exactly what Grant was suffering from. He recently donated $160,000 to healthtalkonline.org, an award-winning charity that lets people share their health experiences.

I hope it wasn’t anything serious. Maybe just low blood sugar?

That’s a good one, Dr. Phil considering he’s not a real doctor. How about Dr. Guess?

Speaking as a trained nurse, I haven’t heard of anyone getting short of breath from low blood sugar. Dizziness, headaches, feeling faint, actually fainting, but not short of breath.

I’m glad it wasn’t a heart attack, however, he did look rather rough around the gills, as the old saying goes! Wondering if he’s possibly drinking too much, and not sleeping much or eating? Looks like he’s been on a “bender”! Just an opinion!
