It’s a Vampire Diaries fan’s dream — a chance to have a date with the smoking hot Ian Somerhalder. The 33-year-old actor is putting himself up for an auction hosted by Charitybuzz in order to raise money for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF) with the proceeds going towards opening up an animal sanctuary; a place that would bring animals together with troubled youth and help both lead more fulfilling lives. As the actor tells Entertainment Weekly, “If we can give animals a home, we can also take the youth of our country and our world — kids who have behavioral issues, bullying other kids, and halting the progression of those around them — and bring them together to learn compassion from one another. If you have compassion for an animal, then you’ll ultimately have compassion for another human being.” The auction runs until July 18th, and the highest bidder will get to have the once in a lifetime chance to have lunch with the star. Ian left a message to his bidders with EW: “Honestly, all I can say is thank you. I appreciate you and your generosity… I will try not to bore you to tears.” ~Stacy Raivich
