One Day at a Time fans will be sad to hear that Bonnie Franklin, who played Ann Romano on the long-running series, passed away today at the age of 69 in her Los Angeles home. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last September. Bonnie played the mother of Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips’ characters in the hit TV series One Day at a Time, which ran from 1975 to 1984. For her iconic role on the show, she received an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations. Since that time, she’d also appeared on television shows such as Touched by an Angel and Hot in Cleveland, which stars Bertinelli. She was predeceased by her husband, producer Marvin Minoff, who died in 2009.
