Alec Baldwin thrown off plane

Alec Baldwin was incensed when an American Airlines flight attendant asked him to stop playing “Words with Friends” on his iPhone while the plane was on the ground at LAX, preparing for take off. With the “Fasten Seat Belts” light on, he got up and went to the bathroom, slamming the door so violently that the captain of the plane called back to find out what was going on. After being apprised of the situation, the captain asked that Baldwin be removed. After being escorted off the plane, Alec angrily tweeted: “Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt,” then moments later: “Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950s find jobs as flight attendants.” He rebooked another flight to New York, then tweeted: “Now on the 3 o’clock American flight. The flight attendants already look…..smarter.” A passenger on the first flight, Michael J. Wolf, tweeted: “On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait.” Author Grant Cardone tweeted that he was “told by an AA authority” that the actor was booted off because he was “Abusive to attendant.” Another passenger joked via Twitter: “I was on the plane and yes Alec Baldwin was kicked off for grabbing 2 bags of peanuts and that is clearly an FAA violation. He may do time.” Baldwin is pictured arriving at JFK Airport last night.

Shut off the damn phone. Period. Doesn’t matter how addictive it is, you hold up everyone else. We all need to follow the same rules. Turning off phone when you get into a plane is now as common as fastening the seatbelt or putting the tray in the upright and locked position. And for a guy who likely travels as much as he does, he should know this and stop holding people up.
