kingjulienposterEveryone’s favorite royal lemur from the world of Madagascar is starring in his own original series All Hail King Julien on Netflix starting Friday. Familiar characters Mort and Maurice appear on the show, which is set before the events of the first Madagascar film, where several zoo animals found themselves in King Julien’s court. It also boasts a catchy, “infectiously upbeat” new theme song.

The first five 22-minute-long episodes are currently available to stream on Netflix in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, UK, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux and France. The voice-acting cast includes Happy Days actor Henry Winkler as Julien’s “regal predecessor,” Uncle King Julien, Conan‘s Andy Richter as Mort, Danny Jacobs as King Julien, Kevin Michael Richardson as Maurice, and One Tree Hill‘s India de Beaufort as special-ops expert Clover. New episodes are expected to premiere within the next few months.
