American Idol contestants snub Carrie Underwood

By Alexandra Heilbron on May 27, 2011 | 9 Comments

Prior to this year’s American Idol season finale, Carrie Underwood told E! Online that for the past few years, she’s offered her phone number to the top two American Idol finalists in case they wanted to chat or ask for advice, but that no one has ever called. She explained: “I’ve done this every year, by the way, and no one ever calls me. I think David Cook is the only one I’ve managed to become friends with and we swap stories and talk about stuff, but nobody ever calls me. So maybe they will.” Maybe they felt too shy to call? After all, she’s one of the most successful American Idol winners to date. Carrie performed with Lauren Alaina this week on the final show, so maybe now Lauren, who cited Carrie as her idol, will feel comfortable calling her.

She seems like a really sweet, down to earth person. One of the best that American Idol has ever discovered.

That’s really nice of her. But she would also know that these winners are still just kids and now they are swept up with contracts and recording time and tv appearances and friends and family and such. They might not think about calling her, they could forget or lose the #. It’s still really nice of her to offer advice.

JEEZ – First she complains about her husband’s overuse of closet space, now she’s complaining that nobody calls her.

Either she’s bored or needy (possibly both)

It’s an incredibly nice gesture. They’re probably caught up in a whirlwind during the show though, and then afterwards second guess themselves, thinking maybe she was just being nice.
