Infamous CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has confirmed what the public has long suspected, that he’s gay. Cooper decided to publicly announce the fact because he was afraid people might think he was “ashamed” or “hiding something,” which he says was not the case at all — he simply wanted the focus to be on his journalistic work and not his sexual preferences. In a formal letter to Daily Beast writer Andrew Sullivan, Cooper wrote: “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud. I have always been very open and honest about this part of my life with my friends, my family, and my colleagues. In a perfect world, I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business, but I do think there is value in standing up and being counted. I’m not an activist, but I am a human being and I don’t give that up by being a journalist.” Although Cooper enjoys having his privacy he believes that this is an issue worth standing up for. He wrote, “Visibility is important, more important than preserving my reporter’s shield of privacy.” ~Stacy Raivich

The backlash continues against Kathy Griffin as CNN fires the comedian and the Secret Service launches an investigation into her photo of Donald Trump’s head.
This is news?
Couldn’t have set it better myself Lloyd…and this is important because????
Good for him for speaking out! We need people speaking up on this issue and being more open about being homesexual. To the person above me its important because it opens more people to the fact there are many gay people out there who deserve the same rights!
seems half the world is gay. It’s like it’s chic to be gay now. It’s not as hidden as it used to be. Doesn’t seem to be ‘shocking’ or a big deal anymore.
shocking or not, the more awareness there is on the issue, the more likely we are all to have equal rights
Another TV personality gay? Shocking!! #tongueincheek
