British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, 61, was admitted to a London hospital yesterday after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. According to Lloyd Webber’s spokesperson, the disease is in its early stages and there’s hope for a full recovery. Lloyd Webber was just beginning rehearsals for the sequel to his hit musical, The Phantom of the Opera, entitled Love Never Dies, starring Torontonian Ramin Karimlu as the Phantom. Lloyd Webber was last in Toronto in 2008 to help judge the reality TV talent show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, in which actress/singers auditioned for the role of Maria in The Sound of Music.
