Another Transformers 3 car crash

Bumblebee, the Camaro Autobot, which was being used in a chase scene, crashed into a police car during filming of Transformers 3 in Washington D.C. Bumblebee’s front end crumpled, and although the police SUV didn’t seem to be damaged, the officer who was driving sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital. A statement from a police spokesperson reads: “The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the crash and filming of this movie on closed D.C. city streets has been suspended until safety procedures can be reviewed.” It’s the second car crash involving injuries to occur during filming of the third Transformers movie — extra Gabriela Cedillo was airlifted to hospital in the Chicago area with permanent injuries during a car stunt that went wrong on the final day of shooting in that location.

Wait. Did the officer not know there was a movie shoot going on? That he felt the need to speed through siren on and everything. Did the officer want to be apart of the movie. Who speeds through like that? It looks like the police officer wanted to be in the movie, lol “cop in disguise”.. ROFLMAO

did any of you stop to think there was an emergency somewhere and the fact that someone is shooting a movie wasnt as important as where the cop was going? consider for a minute what police officers do for the public before you start talking trash about them for someone HITTING them. the driver of the yellow car should have saw the cop and STOPPED driving, or should have HEARD the cop and stopped driving. if your family member was in danger would you prefer the cops take a longer, less convenient route to go and save them? or drive through a movie scene to try to get there ASAP?
yes but the cop does have to pay attention to whats going on around him, and the driver of the car would not be expecting anyone not in the film, to be flying threw the set like that
It doesn’t say what the cop was doing there, maybe he was part of the shoot?
brian on October 13, 2010 6:31 PM it doesnt matter if the driver of the car didnt EXPECT anyone, he/she has eyes, im sure they could have done something to prevent the accident. the law says you have to have complete control of your vehicle, well clearly the driver didnt have control or he/she would have avoided the accident.
If its a closed set then one would not expect a police car to intersect a scene. Seems to me the other cop at the end of the street just let the emergency vehicle pass without notifying anyone. So yes, police should investigate their procedures.
Actually, between the 16-18 seconds of the beginning of the clip, both the SUV and the Camaro came screaching to a halt. The SUV made an attempt to stop but the Camaro was in motion to swerve in the direction of the other Autobots. All the drivers in the vehicles have a radio to keep in touch with everyone else, someone SHOULD have advised the driver of the Camaro in time but it doesn’t appear as if anyone on-set actually knew the SUV was coming through, you can see the Camaro reacting quickly but not in time. The driver of the Bumblebee car is not at fault & neither is the Police driver, if both vehicle drivers knew a vehicle was approaching them, they’d have time to react. At the speed that Bumblebee was going, the driver wouldn’t be able to hear sounds when driving that fast as air passes the car(wind-speed).
Okay, found an article that explained why the accident happened. Apparently, the D.C. Officers who blocked off the road were on a different frequency than those driving in the SUV, so they weren’t able to communicate and let them know filming was going in that area. They need to get a better stunt coordinator.
two accidents now…maybe this movie is all an accident waiting to happen….
