The awards for Argo continue to stream in. Another big win for director/actor Ben Affleck and the cast of Argo arrived at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards when they took home Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture. Many are even pegging the thriller to capture the coveted Best Picture honor at the upcoming Academy Awards. Affleck himself was shocked when the winner was announced. Prior to the ceremony, he told reporteres, “There was absolutely no way we were going to win this award.” Though Argo knocked out competition such as Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook for Outstanding Ensemble, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence took home Outstanding Male Actor and Outstanding Female Actor, respectively. Deserved. What a great movie. I’m still impressed by the work that went into it and replicating the scenes that actually happened in real life.
