Ben Stiller says Zoolander 2 a possibility

By Alexandra Heilbron on May 26, 2011 | 16 Comments

It’s been nearly a decade since male model Derek Zoolander, as portrayed by Ben Stiller, strutted across movie screens. But Stiller told a press conference for Submarine, a new comedy he produced, that the sequel is all ready to go and the only thing he’s waiting for is a greenlight from distributor Paramount Pictures. “It’s kind of coming along slowly,” Stiller told The Playlist. “We have a script that we like and we’re just waiting for the studio to figure it out… Hopefully it’ll all come together.” Stiller revealed in January that the script he co-wrote with Justin Theroux will be set in Europe, and would have Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell reprise their roles from the 2001 comedy hit.

Hahaha I LOVED Zoolander! The first time I saw it I actually turned it off, thought it was stupid and couldn’t watch it. The second time I got into it, and it’s funny as Heck! I love the ‘Look’ that Zooalander gives the camera. This is a cult classic!! Would love to see a part 2!

Sweeettt. I will have a gasoline fight with my friends to celebrate. Classic lines from the movie are in popular culture now. And there is guaranteed at least one funny scene that even people with zero funny bone laughed.
Sit back and enjoy and first one again, then let’s all hope for a great part 2!!

Derek Zoolander: What is this? A center for ants? How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read… if they can’t even fit inside the building?

Mugatu: Derek, this is just a small…

Derek Zoolander: I don’t wanna hear your excuses! The building has to be at least… three times bigger than this!

Don’t we have enough sequels, prequels, reboots, remakes?? How about a new original movie, is that too much to ask.

Ben’s Stiller is the last few years.
    Little Fockers (sequel and sucked)
Night at the Museum (sequel, didn’t see it)
    Madagascar 2 (sequel)
Starsky and Hutch (remake and sucked)

Germain, at least Stiller created Zoolander which was original (from VH1 days). He is entitled to make a sequel to his original idea.
    Little Fockers-dried up.
    Night at Museum-repetative.
    Madagascar 2-didn’t see.
Starsky and Hutch-not that funny at all.
    Zoolander-priceless.
Zoolander2-hope to hell it’s just as good or better.

Monique: lol! Love the lines! I wish I were an ambi-turner too.
